Whats complicated is the grand compromise to get any change passed in the House and Senate. Between the Democrat Luddites who will vote against change at any cost for spite and the "balance the budget at any cost" Republicans its the Political process that is a mess. It's not like Obamacare is so great it couldn't be improved.

Well, it's clear the ACA will ultimately collapse if they don't do anything. Until proven otherwise I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they can propose some rational improvements to the ACA without denying anyone existing coverage.The Republican budget hawks will always be budget hawks if it costs money, but if the Democrats want to unanimously deny any proposed changes to the ACA out of spite it may just come back to bite them in the ass in 2018.
What rational improvements? Trump's speech was touting Price's plan that burns the entire safety net to the ground. Of course the Democrats are going to oppose that.
You haven't seen the pattern yet? He says some outrageous that gets everyone in an uproar then comes back later with a watered down plan (example: dreamers can stay) and everyone says "well that's not so bad".
It's primitive but can be an effective negotiation at times.
Anything less than a compromise some democrats could accept on the ACA would be DOA and they are bound to know that.
