"But, but, Durbeta was out! We can't win when we're only 999,999 times more stacked than the rest of the league instead of a million times more stacked!"

tbh Warriors really aren't as stacked as everyone made them out to be. They are very top heavy, but zero depth, and minimal versatility.

Losing Bogut, Barbosa, Ezeli, and Speights were big losses, because it completely changed what made the team great the past two years, which was their versatility and chemistry. Replacing those guys and Barnes with KD and Zaza wasn't quite as big of an improvement as people thought.

But it's not that the Warriors are bad, it's just the Bulls are deceivingly good:

don't forget Harrison Barnes. He kind of got lost in the mix but he hit big shots for them last season.

They were still on a 68-69 win pace when Durant went down and have a higher points differential than even the last two years (Not to mention 1st in offense and 2nd in defense).

While I didn't think KD made them significantly a better team, the more important part was taking out its biggest compe ion in the West by KD jumping ship (besides SA). That alone should make them heavy favorites - you only have to be better than your compe ion in a given year to ring.

    This.
And gotta say the Wubs avoided huge media speculation etc had they choked to the Knicks.
Of course they would have had their false bravado in front of the media but you know they'd be getting bunched up.
Kinda of a good win in a small battle for Warrior s.
