I didn't know rings and FMVPs were media awards
I could be wrong, but isn't FMVP picked by the media? Same with MVP votes?

    Wikipedia:
The Bill Russell NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award (formerly known as the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Award) is an annual National Basketball Association (NBA) award given since the 1969 NBA Finals. The award is decided by a panel of nine media members, who cast votes after the conclusion of the Finals. The person with the highest votes wins the award.

I'm not saying it disqualifies the award, BTW, but it's clear that the media affair with the insecure, vindicative that the Kobester always been certainly played a role, IMO.

I dont understand the Pau vote, he only has 2 rings, TPork and Manu 4, even when some fans cares about MVPs and manufactured crap like that 4 rings doubles 2.

It's very close between Gasol, Parker, and Gionobili. They have similar credentials.

I think some people voting here are factoring in Manu's durability over Parker. Manu looks like he could have another year coming off the bench and still be somewhat productive but TP looks toasted. I also believe some give Manu the nod because he would have more individual awards and accolades if he had told pop no to coming off the bench. As it stands and taking all the would have been off the table it's got to be Parker. I voted Manu before I realized it said NBA. I believe a Euro le and a gold medal over the US Would give him the nod In an overall basketball career poll

That said, I hope they both ride off into the HOF sunset after this season - no matter how unlikely that seems.
Not sure what the "unlikely" part refers to. If it's about "after this season", I'm not sure any of them retires just yet. If it's about the HoF you can rest assured they're in, only question is 1st ballot or not.

Both are HOF locks. Both retiring after this season is questionable. I wonder how much both of their decisions might be impacted by winning a championship...
