Before Durant went down, we were 5 games back of the Warriors. Now we're only 2 games back, with 2 more head-to-head matchups against them, both of which will be in San Antonio and on the 2nd night of a back-to-back for the Dubs.

Assuming Durant doesn't come back until the playoffs, it's not a stretch to say at this point that the Spurs are in the driver's seat for the #1 seed.

Looking at it closely, do we prefer to have 1 seed with the prospects of facing the Clips in Rd. 2 maybe without LMA or would it be easier to have the 2 seed and face the Rockets, who we consistently beat in Rd. 2? I know the ultimate prize is home court over the Dubs in the WCF but we have 2 potential roadblocks in Rd. 2 we have to take seriously.

There's no way we hold on to the number one seed. Warriors remaining schedule is a million times easier. We still have the Grizz 3 times the jazz twice, the Cavs, Thunder, Warriors, Clippers, and a couple other teams that play the Spurs hard
