Losing to teams like Memphis and Portland = no 1 seed. To win it all they'll have to beat the first round team, Houston, GS, and the East Champ. Good luck with that.

Close this thread, Spurs arnt catchin the #1 seed!
Nice vid. Thanks for posting.
Didn't know about the wingstop coupon issue. Poor Kawhi.![]()
Meh. It's not likely, but still possible. GS has a tough stretch coming up, as do we. Plus one more matchup against them, who knows.
If GSW goes 7-6 over their remaining games, the Spurs could get the 1 seed by going 10-4. Neither is out of the question, since GSW has gone 5-5 over their last 10 games. But chances are they get their feet under them and play better than .500 ball to finish the season.
At this point, if the Spurs go 7-7 over their remaining games, they almost certainly wind up with home court against everyone except GSW. Houston or Cleveland could mess that up by running the table, but that's not likely to happen. They ought to be able to manage that, so Pop can use this time to figure out his playoff rotation.
Which one of those scenarios seems more like Pop?
This thread is dead i suppose.![]()
Tuffest opp is Hou twice for GSW, as for Spurs, it all depends on how the play! look at Mem game & now how they started against Sac.!
If they had started like that on an above .500 team, Spurs woulda been blown out!
Dubs still have - Thunder, Mavs, Kings, Grizz, Rockets, Spurs, Rockets, Wizards, Wolves, Suns, Pels, Jazz, Lakers
Spurs have - Wolves, Grizz, Knicks, Cavs, Dubs, Thunder, Jazz, Grizz, Lakers, Mavs, Clips, Blazers, Jazz
I'd say our schedule is a little tougher, but it is doable. I think Spurs get the next 3, so we could pull within 1 again if the Thunder can pull off the upset tonight
Dubs are in OKC tonight and in Dallas tomorrow. Sunday home for Memphis, Tuesday in Houston and Wednesday @ Spurs (b2b) (3 games in 4 nights) also games with Wizards, Jazz left.. Tough games for sure. I know we have some tough game remaining as well, but it's still somewhat possible.
It's annoying how we've been starting slow, but hopefully in these last couple weeks we turn it around. There's still a very slim chance
Likely scenario is Spurs will win a couple and pull within 1 or 0.5 games, then will get beaten by the Barbados national team.
With 14 games left in the season (as of last night) Pop is starting Davis Bertans at C. Pau has obviously benefitted from coming off the bench. But that also means that he was less effective as a starting C.
Our starting PG had 16/7, and that was enough for everyone to get all excited.
In the '14 campaign, Tony had 58 games with double-digit points, and 47 games with 5 or more AST.
This year, Tony has 27 double-digit points games, and 23 with >5 AST.
Whether the Spurs catch GSW or not, those two positions are still the key to the Spurs' success or failure in the post-season.
Stupid WB. Going for assists instead of taking it hard to the rim.
He is a slave to the stats at this point. Averaging a triple double is a much higher priority to him it seems instead of winning the game and giving the warriors a nice fat burger to eat.
This white scrub missing wide open 3s. Couldn't miss against the Spurs smh.
What does this mean??
0:05 Taj Gibson double personal turnover 56 - 39
The Dubs are back to ass-reaming the league, time to give up on the one seed and focus on preparing for the playoffs (not that the Spurs have much hope of doing anything).
It must have been a doozy. Shaqin a fool type stuff.
Remember when the Warriors were imploding? Good times. Remember when a healthy Spurs team got ass-reamed in OKC, scoring 92 points for the game (though a bunch of that was in garbage time) while GS had 92 after 3 quarters? Better times.
I wasn't watching it, but the NBA's play-by-play shows that Gibson got blocked on a dunk. Things must have gone to , because the refs called a double technical on Curry-Christon, and ANOTHER double technical on Westbrook-Green, and a jump ball. Golden State won the jump ball, and freaking Curry hit a buzzer beating 3 just to twist the knife.
a surging Blazers + Clippers wasn't going to be a cakewalk anyway ..
They Spurs weren't going to get it the Top seed even if Curry/Thompson stayed shooting below 40%..their own play is of bigger concern right now..
I told you guys this would happen after the Sixers let them off the hook. The emotional high they got off the game has ramped up their game and will carry through the rest of the way. We had a golden opportunity and gave it up by losing to inferior teams.
Pop doesn't give a .
Pop doesn't give a if they lose in the 1st round either.
why should seeding even matter when so many people on here are already calling the Spurs doomed for the playoffs? Such hot takes like OKC will beat us in the 1st round.
