Yet nary a word when Rique tried to put his cape on and play hero in the 4th despite shooting a whopping 0%.
It's a shame the trade deadline passed. Probably could have gotten something for him earlier in the season.

Too bad Tony got injured.
Bizzaro close to the game with the Spurs actually hitting their FTs. I like it![]()
Yes...
the chicken little "sky is falling" and a few player haters.
He
was awful...
but I am glad Simmons had a good game TBH. He gave quality minutes... and is starting to hit the outside shot.
Davis isn't ready for the playoffs though.
Boston has those 1st rounders just chilling there too smh
Yep, Parker was ing awful tonight and Pop insisting on playing him over Patty nearly cost the Spurs the game. Thankfully he had that clutch steal at the end to help somewhat mitigate his terrible offensive play.
One of his best games then one of his worst games. This is why the team struggles even if Patty has a good game. Patty is consistent. He's not gonna lose you games.![]()
Had to sit by some guy during the playoffs one time that was shouting "he's a bum!!" The entire game. Still have nightmares from that asshole.![]()
If we think about gettable guys I like Tyus Jones. They have too many PG and he's not playing enough but he has game. Still in a rookie deal and young. ... Spurs likely not even looking in that direction though bc RC standing pat.
Im happy.
But the writing is again plastered to the wall.
We lack a PG.
Danny Green can't dribble or handle to save his life.
Patty is a small 2.
Manu is 39.
Murray is a twig and inexperienced.
We really hurt at guard.
Not sure how "pat" PATFO can afford to stand. I am beginning to have some hope that Tony will not be a Spur next season. It is not good when your starting PG is either injured or ineffective.
Yep. It looked that Simmons just needs to shot without thinking.
On top of that, Murray got hurt at a bad time. He's missing all these games.
What is it about the T-Wolves at home? We should've blown them out tonight.
A win is a win, though.
I think you are not trained in the art of taking about the head of the snake.
He it's either injured, or playing brilliant basketball.
There is no such thing as ineffectiveness.
HaHa! Yeah, both Tony and Manu are capable of "brilliant" games. Unfortunately those games are about one out of every 5 they play. Both need to go.
If we really think about it without an agenda: he's getting benched for Patty at the end of games when Spurs need a shooter, bc the ball is going to be in Kawhi's hands anyways, and Patty's off the ball play is more valuable. He's also getting benched for Simmons for brief stretches for defensive possessions in no PG lineups bc again the ball is going to be in kawhi's hands and Simmons is a better defender.
Tony's situation is inconsistent and sad. I know the player hate crew loves these games to get on and on about it.... but in reality it's sad. he's paid a heck of a lot, and is not looking like a starting caliber player nightly. He's not going to retire. It's now going to be how and when can you play him, manage his minutes, etc... and what to do in the offseason about guard play.
As I said a few days ago, that is a real tragedy for Dijon and for the Spurs and this season. Nobody league-wide will ever appreciate how big a break this is for them.
There is just very little justification for tying up the money and the roster spot on a guy like you described. If his name weren't Tony Parker, I don't think there would be any question; the guy would be gone. No basketball justification, just slight emotional justification. I think he could become a real locker room cancer, and may be already. Why does this team appear to groan before every tip-off? Seriously, it isn't just ennui. This team seems to regard having to take the floor as a chore. I said it earlier in the season, and I still believe there is some stuff going on behind the scenes with this team.
Could be veteran stuff. The young guys are having fun, cheer each other. Manu is always Manu... Patty is a great teammate.
Pau tends to bark at young players, but he accepted the benching and is playing well.
If there are issues it has to be one of the vets.
There have been complaints about Pop experiments this late in the season apparently.
You didn't mention Tony's exuberance...![]()
@ the part about Tony being a locker room cancer
