I thought Manu guarded him well, tbh... contested every shot.... Klay, when he's on, he's that good of a shooter...

Klay at least is really a starter, tbh... Iggy having monster games is more demoralizing, IMO...

The guy can't guard Austin Rivers, much less Klay Thompson. Only hall of famers would do it

    Thats impossible.

I rather have Ander and Simmons on him before Manu

At least Anderson has length and Simmons speed

Manu has neither, and is 40 years old
I don't care how old Manu is. He can't be on the court at all if he can't guard Klay. You can't actually prioritize guarding Thompson. It just wouldn't make any sense from a game-planning perspective.

Honestly, I think we have way bigger defensive holes... if we're honest Manu really is the 3rd best perimeter defender on this team...

No. no. Klay's their third option/spot-up guy. Manu has to be able to guard him. End of story.
Manu was right on his face on pretty much every single shot even though Klay was shooting after a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of half a second, what more do you want him to do? Klay was just feeling it at that time.

Sure he can be. He can play PG... but it doesn't really matter. I think Pop would move Kawhi or Danny to whoever is the hot hand at any given time in a potential playoff matchup. I don't think he cares for that stuff in the RS.

I definitely agree that Manu contested all of Klay's shots. I have seen Klay go on streaks where he hits everything tosses up with defenders in his face. I couldn't get upset at Manu since he was up in his face on every shot he took. Those are the type of shots I can live with. Like you said Iggy playing out of his ass is what did the Spurs in. He did his best imitation of Michael Jordan tonight with all the bs shots he hit. The majority of his shots were contested which drove me nuts when they came in.

Praying Ryan Anderson takes him out for good in the second round. At least then the Spurs will have a chance

You have a good point. Manu has to guard him to stay on the floor.
    That's the team Spurs have.

In fact, maybe in the playoffs Kawhi and Danny play more minutes but Pop only gives 6-10 minutes to one of either Kyle or Simmons like in the past.... (and hope Simmons is not fouling) ... Anyways, they are likely to see very short minutes in the playoffs, less than in this game, where maybe Pop wanted enough film of Anderson to roast him or whatever... but it's unlikely he (or Simmons) plays 13 minutes in a playoff game unless they are on fire like Simmons was in that season opener.

Anyways, that still leaves Manu out there. He wasn't good in this game. Not as bad as Tony bc Tony looked done, but he must be better.
