24/7 is reporting on grad transfer QB Malik Zaire this morning.
UT may have a real shot because he's no longer an option for North Carolina or Wisconsin, and that leaves Florida for his current favorites.
However, the SEC has a grad transfer rule that will need to be overturned in order for Zaire to enroll at Florida. Because a few of Florida's past graduate transfers did not meet SEC academic requirements in 2015, the program is not allowed to take grad transfers for three consecutive years.
Zaire would like to have a final decision in April.
“If he’s got an opportunity to go to Texas I could see him taking it because it could be the best option left for him,” the source said. “It might not be what he wanted, but he might not have a choice.”
