To Defend Bannon, Breitbart Has Opened Fire On The President's Son-In-Law

Breitbart.com, the pro-Trump propaganda outlet previously run by White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon, is now being deployed against President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and top White House staffer Jared Kushner as part of an internal power struggle.

Over the past week -- as Kushner and Bannon have reportedly feuded -- the website has published articles highlighting Kushner’s meetings with the Russian ambassador, questioning the ethics of his business dealings, criticizing his “thin resume in diplomacy,” and speculating about whether he is leaking negative stories about Bannon.

Those attacks represent a U-turn in the website’s coverage of the president’s family. Following Trump’s election and in the early days of his administration, Breitbart provided Kushner and his wife, Ivanka, with soft-focus celebrity coverage. The website chronicled their search for a home and synagogue in Washington, D.C., and lashed out at their critics.

The knives are out for Stephen Bannon, and his scam is getting unmasked

Stephen K. Bannon has proven remarkably talented at creating a media mystique around himself. With his diligent assistance, he has been portrayed as both a virtuoso of deliberately orchestrated disruption and an avenging angel to working-class people (such as his father) who have been betrayed by global and financial elites. Bannon cleverly wields chaos to destabilize those elite foes in service of an economic nationalist mission that borders on Messianism.

But now Bannon is being primarily viewed inside the White House as a destructive force, and other senior advisers are trying to undermine him in the eyes of President Trump himself, according to multiple reports out this morning. Those reports undercut the narrative of Bannon as a Maestro of Disruption, and they also provide an occasion to probe the true nature of his self-ascribed economic nationalism.

Trump “initially supported” Bannon when he delivered an ultimatum to House Republicans that they must vote on the GOP health-care bill or else (they didn’t vote), but then Trump handed off health care to Vice President Pence. And Bannon is clashing with Jared Kushner and irritating the Big Man himself:

Mr. Kushner … has said privately that he fears that Mr. Bannon plays to the president’s worst impulses, according to people with direct knowledge of such discussions.
Moreover, Mr. Bannon’s Svengali-style reputation has chafed on a president who sees himself as the West Wing’s only leading man. Several associates said the president had quietly expressed annoyance over the credit Mr. Bannon had received for setting the agenda — and Mr. Trump was not pleased by the “President Bannon” puppet-master theme promoted by magazines, late-night talk shows and Twitter.

In practice, Bannonite disruption is upstaging the president and being blamed for the failure of the immigration ban.

‘I see some bad press in his future’: Bannon ally hints damaging leaks are coming on Jared Kushner

Bannon has been telling associates that he loves “a gun fight” and that he will continue fighting what he sees as the “globalist” wing of the White House, which includes Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner.

According to Swan’s sources, the Kushner faction believes that Bannon and his allies are “clinically nuts,” while Bannon’s team believes Kushner is trying to transform Trump into a moderate Republican “squish.”

Most interestingly, one of Bannon’s allies hints that Kushner will be the target of upcoming leaks that will damage his public reputation.

“Steve has developed strong and important relationships with some of the most powerful right leaning business leaders,” the Bannon ally told Swan. “I see some bad press in [Jared’s] future.”

The bad blood between Bannon and Kushner exploded into public view this week when Bannon ally Roger Stone publicly accused Kushner of leaking “fake news” to MSNBC morning show host Joe Scarborough.

Stone said that Kushner could get away with leaking damaging info on Bannon to Scarborough because, as Trump’s son-in-law, he’s “the one presidential aide who cannot be fired.”

President Bannon on the brink of calling it quits now that dad likes Kushner best

Just look at all he’s accomplished in such a short time. The executive branch is effectively non-functional, the do-nothing Congress doing less than ever, and every autocrat out there who ever chaffed at US leadership has determined that this is Get Away With Anything Free time. For the modern radical right anarchist, that’s what winning looks like.

No one even seems to appreciate how helpful it was for America’s Real President to use his media assets to attack the speaker of the House in the middle of delicate negotiations. The failure to recognize the fruits of Bannon’s genius is not going down well with Trump’s brain.

The man credited with honing Donald Trump’s populist message and guiding him into the White House has grown frustrated amid continued infighting in the West Wing, so much so that in recent weeks a top donor had to convince him to stay in his position.

Now he’s really upset. So much so, that if he doesn’t get to break something else soon, he just might decide to quit.

For his part, Bannon is still showing no signs that he’s willing to be sidelined within the West Wing. On the contrary, the former media executive threatened to quit earlier this week if he was removed from his seat on the NSC, according to multiple reports.

One of these teams has been under-performing. And it’s not the profit guys.

Kushner reportedly told colleagues recently that Bannon’s nationalist agenda was hurting Trump. He was also concerned that the former executive chairman of the far-right Breitbart News brought out some of Trump’s worst qualities.

Even Rasmussen’s poll, which is apparently conducted only at Trump rallies
, can’t disguise the steep dip in support. Plus, Bannon has been unable to come up with a distraction on the Russia front that’s good for more than a week.

Meanwhile, Kushner keeps Trump centered on what his team views as important—making the rubes lie down so they can be more effectively fleeced.

Bannon got demoted but he just can't handle the truth

    https://twitter.com/dandrezner/statu...ndle-the-truth

Here’s another head-scatcher—Bannon as voice of moderation:

“Steve was put there as a check on [Mike] Flynn,” the second official said, referring to the former national security adviser who was forced to resign in February over undisclosed contacts with Russia.

With Gen. McMaster now in charge, “there was no longer a need [for Bannon] because they share the same views,” the official said.

Nice try. Apparently, the White House never trusted that Flynn guy who Donald Trump put in charge of his entire national security team.

We may never know exactly why Bannon got -canned, but one thing's for sure: It didn't have anything to do with Susan Rice. That's just Bannon desperately grasping at straws to save face.
Because only weaklings get demoted. There's not much power in that, is there?

Jared Kushner Hired ‘The Purge’ Publicist, An Expert In Marketing Dystopia

the White House has yet another connection to that movie as Jared Kushner just hired the publicist behind “The Purge” films, Josh Raffel.

Since 2015, Raffel led communications for Blumhouse Productions, the production company behind “The Purge: Election Year,” as well as other scary movies such as the “Paranormal Activity” series, “Split” and “Get Out.”

The company was also behind Damien Chazelle’s 2014 movie “
Whiplash,” which earned five Oscar nominations and won in three categories.

Kushner Omitted Meeting With Russians on Security Clearance Forms

he was required to disclose all encounters with foreign government officials over the last seven years.

But Mr. Kushner did not mention dozens of contacts with foreign leaders or officials in recent months.

They include a December meeting with the Russian ambassador, Sergey I. Kislyak, and

one with the head of a Russian state-owned bank, Vnesheconombank, arranged at Mr. Kislyak’s behest.

The omissions, which Mr. Kushner’s lawyer called an error, are particularly sensitive given the congressional and F.B.I. investigations into contacts between Russian officials and Trump associates.

The Senate Intelligence Committee informed the White House weeks ago that, as part of its inquiry, it planned to question Mr. Kushner about the meetings he arranged with Mr. Kislyak, including the one with Sergey N. Gorkov, a graduate of Russia’s spy school who now heads Vnesheconombank.
