Perhaps last year was the outlier and this is a regression to the mean

I blame Porker for forcing Patty into a greater role than he should have. Patty is a situational player, but Porker's ineptness is forcing Patty to play way too many minutes.
    not an unfair assessment tbh

If that is true I want to hear Patty go back on the "I want to be a starting PG" talk.

They are the issue with this team because they are the guys depended upon to pick up the slack. One dude is even in the middle of a contract year, in all of this.
This is his put up, or shut up year, and he's kind of shutting up. That's no bueno, buddy.
    No?
They are what they are: late 20's role players.

Again, basketball is no different than any other sport. It doesn't matter how great one is in a particular area, everyone will go through slumps. Overall, they're both volume three-point shooters, shooting right around 40% and one also rates as one of the best defenders at his position(s). What more do you want? Steady 40% shooting throughout 82 games plus playoffs isn't possible.

If this team had even '14 Parker, who was beginning his decline but still All-Star caliber, he'd singlehandedly cover up their issues and give them a legit shot at winning the championship.

Regression to the mean. Somehow, when this inevitability comes into play, it's called choking, forgetting how to shoot, your shot being broken, etc.

Mills is shooting .443 from the field, .413 from 3 and .836 from the line. The first two are above his career averages and the latter is right in line with it and they're all good percentages (the former may not appear so to the laymen, but it's all relative to the type of shots one shoots).

Green and Mills receive too much criticism on this board.
Mills and Green shooting valleys have taken a MCW-level of inep ude turn the past two years (Wide open, unsightly bricks everywhere..)..they have gotten longer and more consistent to the point they are going to lose you a series given the lack of scoring options elsewhere for this team..

It just seems that way because you follow this team closely and have an emotional connection to them, so you have unrealistic expectations. This is how it works though. Gordon, Ariza and I believe Anderson, have slumped for a long time compared to earlier in the season and it looks like it's finally hitting Williams, to.

Even with Mill falling off a cliff, he's still shot 37% (or about 2 percent above league average) from 3 during this stretch.

Aldridge playing like a star and Parker's health/rhythm, are far bigger concerns than Green and Mills.

    Bump..

Basically he's had hot couple of months, and then regressed back to 2014-2015/2015-2016 levels..IMO, he's downgraded from an elite shooter to just great one based on his track record of the past two seasons..

He's trying too hard to prove something. His Decieion making has flat out been atrocious. This is why Pop struggles to bench Parker because the Alterbative has no idea how to read the flow of the offense. It's so common for him to call for ty Aldridge and Leonard post-ups in situations that doesn't warrant it. To top it off, he's three on the dribble has been horrendous. He needs to chill and play more offball.

So glad we dont play the Clippers.

Paddy is shooting under 30% vs the Clippers in 4 games and barely over 20% from 3PT..

Also why is no one talking about him becoming an more even inexcusable defender this season..even that fake hustle is lacking..

I mentioned it a while back, disappointing since it's a contract year for him, tbh...

Hopefully he can find his stroke for the playoffs at least... the defense on both our PGs is a lost cause, IMO...

Can we just stop talking about "contract year Patty"? or the fact he's been in a mere slump? or the projection of him getting "paiiiid" ?

Wakeup and smell the coffee folks: For as good he was the first 30 games of the season, he's been oppositely atrocious for the next 30..

    Pre-Christmas Patty Thrills: (30 games) (48 FG %/ 44 3PT%/92 FT%)

    Post-Christmas Broken Microwave: (30 games) (39 FG%/37 3PT%/63 FT%)

Care to do something !like this for this season?
Include Davis and Danny too? Think Spurs all getting on a shooting funk at the same time has been a problem when they are a!ready missing Kawhi and Rudy's scoring.
