I predict your Lakers will end up giving their lottery pick to Phoenix.

Unless Pop feels like getting outcoached by Pringles I don't see the Rockets being too much of a problem since they aren't a disciplined defense. Of course Houston going nuclear from 3 in the series is possible, so we'll see.
Picking the Spurs is one thing, but doing so in less than 6 is another.

Also, they don't have to be overly disciplined defensively, as the Spurs have been a below average offensive team for two and a half months.

Yeah, but the Rockets is exactly the kind of team that makes bad offenses look competent.

Regardless, this is at least a better matchup than the clippers.

The Spurs have a fatal flaw offensively that makes them look incompetent no matter the defense and the Rockets defense isn't as bad (T-16th) as many presume.

    Definitely.

Absoultely. Not playing the Clippers is best case scenario along with getting MEM in the first round. HOU is a very dangerous team capable of doing a lot of damage, however, having a player with such a high usage (harden) and having 2 elite defenders for said player (Kawhi & Danny) just makes the match up better.

Sure, if SA's offense goes in the crapper then it's going to be tough. But SA matchs up well with both MEM and HOU (assuming HOU makes it out of the first round).

Spurs offense (7th in the league) is better than you give it credit for.

Who ing knows? As long as LMA wants to pick and choose when to play big, no one know how far this team can go. TP sucks now and LMA is soft. Is KL good enough to lead the Spurs to a chip without much help?

Houston at worst beats OKC in 5. It's going to be a Murder. OKC is a really bad team with an exploitable star.

I agree, but HOU has holes as well. I would absoultely bet on HOU to win, I was just making a point.

It's been below league average for 2 and a half months and the 7th-8th ranking is misleading. They're efficient because their percentages are strong across the board, as is their assist rate and they do a relatively good job taking care of the ball . . . but they're not the least bit explosive (pace obviously plays a part, but 14th in ppg, as well as 25th in 3pta's and 22nd in fta's) and that's the name of the game now.

I don't care how good their defense is, they're not beating an elite team in a series on a steady diet of mid rangers and post ups.

It's not misleading at all. It's a full year worth of data with a lot of guys missing time too and a bunch of different lineups.

Sure, SA does somethings not so well. But they manufacture quality shots on a very consistent basis. When they aren't hitting (which feels like more often than it really is) it looks bad. But it's not an offense that struggles to create good looks - it's an offense that relies on mid-range more than the majority of the teams but still is an overall really good 3PT shooting team.

When Danny/Mills/Kawhi/Pau are hitting 3's the same offense looks amazing.

It is because they're efficient, but not explosive. For example, the Rockets aren't nearly as efficient a shooting team across the board and turn the ball over a lot more, yet because of their breakneck pace and sheer volume of 3's, they're a superior offensive team.

The Spurs manufacture the exact kinds of shots teams want to give up and even though they're 1st in percentage from 3, it's not a weapon because they're 25th in attempts.

This team would have been much better pre '15. Unfortunately for them, the game rapidly evolved since then and they've been left behind.
