I know it was 5-3 in the 80s, but Boston always had the tougher road. They went though the 6ers and Pistons year after year before taking on the west champs. While LAs toughest western rival back then were the Mavs, which is a bucks level compe or. Houston was aberration more than anything and was No where close to be pistons and 6ers.
Reverse the conferences and I doubt the lakers play in 9 finals winning 5. They were the heat of the 90s.
