    Allowing the least amount of pts doesn't necessarily mean having a better defense, most times it means playing at a slower pace.

    Using raw points allowed to judge defense in 2017

    GS gives up a lot of points because they play at the 2nd fastest pace in the league...they're still 2nd in DRTG, which adjusts for pace. By all metrics they've been elite defensively this year.

    Still they get away with a lot of defensive crap that refs approve and that helps to shave some points every game, not as much as last season but they get their benefits.
    Now they are not so good, 5 great team players for one All Star is not a good idea any day of the week.
