i love manu, probably my favorite spur ever behind timmy.
there is no shame in losing to father time. the observation that he looks completely washed feels harsh, but sports are one of the few environments that leave no room for sentiment.
it's just shocking. I know they say the end comes slowly, then abruptly...but this is soo bad and sudden, it feels surreal.
trolling aside, i don't think anyone can take any pleasure in this.
that said, i got $14 million reasons to say ' brett brown'
Any hope his game meshes with the flow of a Rockets series?
I don't even mind losing to Houston at this point but I need to see Manu Ginobili finish his season (career) on anything higher than this 0-fer vs Memphis.
A player of his contribution doesn't deserve to go out on such a flimsy note.
PtR pissing me off with a, "the time is ripe for a classic manu game 5", when I am thinking the time is right to permanently assign Manu's butt to the bench for the remainder of this series.
He might have one, and pull Pop back in. Then he will get minutes in game 6 and proceed to pass the ball to the grizzlies.
Truth be told Manu had some kick ass plays that most definitely added to the momentum and thus win in Game 1 (or 2 I can't remember).
Had a kick ass steal and assist on the same play for a 4 point swing.
It's up to CIA Popped to regulate Manu and Porker.
When he doesn't, you see the results.![]()
midnightpulp Splits
but he dove for the ball!

Pathetic calling for his buddies.
He's nurturing the younger players
What needs to be done, but not likely.
More likely - but the odds are low.
He probably is teaching... and brought value in the locker room.. and he had games in the season he pulled from the depths ... he had as good of a season as one can expect from a 39 year old... but it's time.
At some point those younger players need to get a looser leash and Manu needs to be the one getting the short hook and it's happening in the playoffs which I can't imagine it's fun for him.
Manu in the 2015 postseason:
23% Usg: 17.9 PER
Manu in 2016 postseason:
15.6% usg: 16.5 PER
Manu in 2017 postseason:
14.4% usg: -1.5 PER
PER is not the best stat but it's just an idea for illustrative purposes of how sharp/steep/sudden he's declined... his usage in the postseason has been declining too. In the regular season his usage would be high... around 20% or higher, to then be reduced in the postseason, as he can't get by anyone. It was counterproductive to have him with that high usage as he's surely taking possessions others could have used to develop.
Currently and up to this point:
Simmons:
15.5% usg: 20 PER
Anderson
17.4% usg: 18.1 PER
Murray's numbers are better than Manu as well, but he only played a short time of garbage time in Game 3 so I am omitting him. If we go by performance, Manu needs to be benched in favor of a younger player. Some of those players like Dijon barely played in the RS and could have used the playing time.
Maybe Manu will bounce back... but I expected that in game 4 already.
Gottdam your posts get me so horny
