I think it's a solid possibility. Mostly because when the stretch came that Murray would have gotten significant minutes he got injured and Pop had to run with Forbes who just at the very end of those consistent minutes he was getting at PG was starting to hit a stride.

Knowing Pop, I think chances are real and solid that Forbes will get the nod with Patty starting. Manu starting is a desperation move in an eliminating game TBH

I don't think Pop is fully committed to handing Leonard all PG responsibilities, if he is...Possibly. I guess the logic would be is that Forbes is a good shooter that can space the floor.

Murray is a dynamic Guard though. He makes silly floaters sometimes, but the space he creates driving to the basket is undeniable and is second only to Kawhi.

I'd be surprised to see them play though.

Chances are, Kawhi plays more Point Forward with Simmons eating some of Manu's minutes who in turn will take some PG duties.

Pop doesn't give playoff minutes to rookies so honestly I don't think we see much of either

No. Forbes got experience and only had one good game out of all the games he played at the end. He is the better shooter but Murray is way more talented and can create easier shots for others.

I doubt Murray gets any time but if he does he has a good chance of starting the next game just to see how he does. If he wilts he gets pulled and that's it for him this year. If he does good it helps but he will NOT be finishing games.

Right. At this point, it's about eating Parker's minutes the most effective way possible. It's 26 minutes per night (37 was an outlier because of OT game) which most likely comes from:

    - Mills - currently at about 21 minutes, but look for that to get pushed to 30. In the 19 games Parker missed, he played 27 minutes per contest and put up 12.9ppg on 47% shooting (45% from three) while taking ten shots per contest (up from about 7 in games Parker played). Also averaged 4.5 assists, better rebounding and similar turnover numbers. I see no issue in his role being expanded.

    - Simmons already saw big minutes before the Parker injury as the team moved towards small ball. He may get a few more minutes a game but don't want to increase load too much.

    - Anderson is most likely to pick up minutes. Imagine Pop trusts him more than Murray and he's a better ball handler than Bertans.

    - Murray and Forbes will be brought along slowly. Houston can absolutely burn them if not careful.

One other issue is the loss of the Parker-Mills-Manu small ball lineups that had great ball movement and speed.

I piggy back on sagirl (no pervy pun intended) and add that forbes is a bigger defensive liability imo

He needs to play Murray. Future > now, especially since they won't beat the Warriors this year anyway.

Yes, but Murray hasn't played well since the injury. Forbes has played well.

No. It looked like Murray might have been up for at least some playoff minutes before he got hurt. After the injury, the expectation was that neither would see meaningful playoff minutes. Forbes got some end-of-season experience, but I don't think anyone seriously thought that was going to get him into the playoff rotation.

With Tony's injury, Murray is next in line. Pop may use Manu, and possibly try Kawhi as more of a point forward. But if either of the rookies gets minutes, it will be Murray. If I'm wrong about that one, I will be shocked.
