No. Even Billy Donovan's defensive scheme was great against this team. They missed tons of good looks tbh.
The defensive scheme he's put up against the Houston got them shook. Pick and rolls defended with both hands up and a deeeeeep ice on the big man, they're forcing them to take mid range shots which they're not doing, so it's a semi-contested three or a contested layup / floater. Also spurs are way more disciplined at adapting to their reach-touch foul strategy

i think it was more just the intensity and focus was there, even though they gave up some open looks. they looked a lot more focused on that end.

No doubt. People still say "he doesnt make adjustments anymore" or "he doesnt care" etc... they ed at Pau being named the starter , and he's played pretty dam good for what they want to do.
People will always complain about him... if its not the above, its because he doesnt play guys they think would move the needle or the guy they Want to see play
