By the eye test, he was fantastic. But those stats, 5 TO's![]()
Disciplined is the key. Someone with his energy, plus the fast pace and helter skelter atmosphere at times, it'd be easy to turn into a slopfest.

Show him the $$$$$$$$
His defense on Harden to end the game was fantastic, no doubt . However, he has ZERO confidence in his shot, which makes him easy to game plan against going forward. Expect Houston to disrespect his shot in game 6.
Hopefully he pulls a Andre Roberson game 6 from last year!
Simmons worked on his midrange shot over the summer and it's his go-to shot when not attacking the rim. I trust Chip to work his 3 next....
Pretty much his only weakness
Two big free throws down the stretch also. Keep proving me wrong, we will continue to needing you more & more.
You could be on to something there.
He has good one-on-one skills and can switch like how the Spurs play on defense. Not that hard.![]()
I like how when Harden guards him, he just goes to the hoop and instigates contact.
I guess these numbers look even better for Simms after game 5.
Does he chew that gum all game too? He could barely string three words together during that post game interview.
Fantastic game by Simmons all the same. Simmons/Ginobili/Green/Leonard/Aldridge is a great lineup to switch everything.

Simmons will foul out by halftime!!!
Smh watch him go home to Houston..
Spurs would be dumb as not to lock him up!! Ginobili is on his way out, the Spurs will need someone. If dude gets at least 40% from 3, he'd really look like a starter.
i think we should start simmons and bring Green off the bench. I been saying that all season.
back to GS or cleveland
If nothing else let him guard Hardon some to give Kawhi a break. Also if our pussy bigs can't post up little guys Simmons can atleast get to the rim.
Simmons is a restricted FA and because the Spurs are capped out, might not be able to do anything besides match another team's offer sheet. Also, there won't be as much money floating around this offseason for UFAs let alone RFAs. Doesn't mean someone won't offer him a crazy number, but less likely given his age compared to most RFAs. If he goes as high as the MLE, do you lock him up at those dollars?
lockdown
As I said in the game thread, I do hate stats like that, especially if there's no explicit standard for who gets assigned credit/blame for the result. That said, gotta give credit to Simmons for stepping up when the team needs him. I don't know how long him and the team can keep this up, but they'd be dead in the water if he weren't contributing.
