I meant what I said and I said what I meant
So how many years and dollars would you like the Spurs give him?
Can't say yet. This isn't who he was most of the year. If the Spurs can get five or more games of good play, then he's a keeper. As of right now, I think an MLE 1-plus-1 makes the most sense for both sides. The hope is that his age prevents Marks from backing up a truck for him, because I don't expect matching an Arenas-max deal going any better for the Spurs as it did with the Blazers.
I think his effect on Harden is a little overblown ... it felt as if somehow Harden no energy and ideas left what to do with the ball ... his effort is undeniable though and I want to see more of it
hopefully Pop finally sees the light and plays small ball from the start in Game 6
Simmons has always been the Manu replacement in my eyes...
I wonder if Simmons appreciates his time with the Spurs..Simmons isn't in the league if the Spurs didn't give him a shot and maybe he really wants to stay? I'm not saying that'll allow the Spurs to low ball him but it could help depending on what's really out there $$ wise for hin
I doubt he pulls a Danny on this. Dude has four kids. Make your money first, then worry about discounts.
You're talking about on D, and I agree. But him destroying Harden on O was very much real. Like imagine, Murray, Simmons, Manu, Kawhi, and LMA. Who can James check on that list?
Damn he has 4 kids?!?! LMAO
Wow. So you think he could go for the MLE? Which is what these days? I dunno how anyone could pay him 10M+ per year unless he continues and plays against the Warriors like he did rest of season.
Another question do you think Pop could be limiting Simmons/Dedmon roles due drive down their value?

I doubt Pop is playing the value game with them. And the MLE is $8.5M-ish next season.
Just no Chinook.
I do think you are keeping the interest of the team in this. He's shown some things but not consistency I get that but it's like for chandler parsons... I think he said if it wasn't a good deal for Mark Cuban to take a chance on him and his knee, it wasn't a good deal for him to not take the better offer and also take a chance on him and his knee.
Completely different situation in terms of health and hype (Chandler having been a starters for years in the NBA etc, Simmons a bench player that was around 10th in the rotation).
However some team can say he was held down in role by the existence of other wings in this Spurs roster and the Spurs desire to play almost 99% big the entire season, but him stepping up when the team needed him and when Manu started to look done in the postseason is a sign that he has more to give. I can definitely see offers this summer that are much better than 1 and 1. So he's either gone, and I wish him the best (as I did with CoJo back then who I liked a lot too... anyways I digress)... or he's getting paid by the Spurs. I do believe 1 and 1 isn't going to get it done.
La got
This...
Definitely... plus besides the kid he has worked for a longer time Danny did in the lower leagues and is older by the time his initial cheap out of dleague/FA deal is over. That is absolutely the reason I think he needs to maximize his earnings.
Besides his game is entirely athleticism. He has this next contract to make his money, everything else is gravy.
Not if the Spurs don't give LMA the ball 15 feet away from the basket. I swear, what's he's supposed to do besides shoot a jumper in that case? He shouldn't be trying to dribble on them
LMA, tbh
Shame, really...
I mean he could pass it out...
They double just about every time when he turns his back to the basket in the post. He could find the open man, but idk...
Really though, I understand not taking it at Capela every time, but when Capela is out, there's no reason he shouldn't be able to back every player on that team under the basket and lay it in/dunk it. To your point, they do need to set up more low post opportunities for him. That may be something that he has to take upon himself though.
He does that a lot, and you get people like Reggie ing about it. LMA is not a play-maker, but the dude had only two TOs in 42 minutes.
Issue is that you can't back a person down without dribbling, just like you can't spin through for a hook (his principle inside move) without exposing the ball to hacks. He needs to get into position to score in about a second, literally. He can't do that from 15 out. Get him the ball from eight feet, then tell him to take his guy. But they're too keen on exploiting the mismatch to properly set up the score.Really though, I understand not taking it at Capela every time, but when Capela is out, there's no reason he shouldn't be able to back every player on that team under the basket and lay it in/dunk it. Also, LMA has zero problem going at Capela, because Clint won't get flopping calls very often and isn't a threat to steal the ball. Watch LMA's better post-ups; they're almost all on Capela.
The flopping of the smaller rockets has LMA backing down to post them up... with that being said, just 1 bucket that I recall was a successful punishing of Harden down low. He has been owning him as if he was a prime Olajuwon TBH
