If he's 65 percent, you ing play him Thursday. Why tire out the whole team for the Dubs? We have to end this Thursday.
Play him. If he dies he dies.

Doesn't matter as much as you make it out to. The GSW series starts Sun instead of Tue if Spurs win on Thursday. So one less game and one more day of rest. Not three more days of rest.
One extra day is a huge difference for an older team missing its best pg.

Just shoot him up and get to the WCFs, tbh..Spurs don't really need Kawhi next round, anyways, they probably won't keep it within double digits all series

just posted the same thing, not gonna win in Houston even with a healthy KL.
Have a feeling Spurs take game 6 also. This loss had to be demoralizing for the rockets.

Kawhi's saying he'll play in game six so it's confirmed, Pop's going to rest him and play him game seven.

It's a dilemma. It all depends on how he heals.

We can win game 6, just like we won game 3.

I've tweaked my ankle bad enough that I couldn't walk on it, and it was okay the next day. Pop is always going to be careful with his best player.

If Kawhi's injury was really THAT serious, he wouldn't have come back out on the court.

Pop sat him for two reasons: he didn't want to make the injury worse, and Kawhi wasn't able to move out there. He was shooting on one foot on offense, and getting blown by repeatedly on defense. He couldn't even run to get back on defense...against a team that feasts in transition.

Star player or not, you can't afford to have a gimpy guy on the court down the stretch in a season making-or-breaking Game 5.

I don't care what the name on the back of the jersey is, you need your most capable players on the floor for that moment, and though Kawhi would have willed through the pain to be out there, he still wasn't going to be able to be anywhere near 100%.

Imo, it's not about protecting KL even though that's part of it. It's about putting guys on the floor who can play. KL couldn't play. The Spurs won without KL but could have lost with him if he was gimpy. So you can either go or you cannot, and I don't think that's up to the player but how the coach assesses the player's impact.

If he plays, Houston is going to run the out of him.

It was serious enough where he wasn't on the court for pretty much for a Game 7...

Just because he says he's gonna play doesn't mean ..he wanted to play in that game but we all saw how he looked. It's all about swelling tbh..he's got today to make himself right..that's worrisome imo

Yeah, but there is a difference between being able to be on the court, and being able to be effective on the court. He was obviously injured; no one is disputing that. But it didn't appear to be the type of injury that will cause him to miss any games or end his season or anything, and for that we should feel grateful.

I once sprained my ankle playing flag football when I took a bad step on defense. I was able to walk it off and tried to stay in the game...but I literally could not run on it. At that point, I was just a useless body on the field, so I subbed out. Pretty much the same reason Pop benched Kawhi.

I even spent the rest of the day gimping around a music festival following the game, and with a little bit of rest and ice, my ankle was ready to play a double-header the following week.

I know a week and two days are a big difference, but we are talking about NBA teams who have some of the best medical treatment available. I'm sure he'll get plenty of treatment between now and Thursday night, and hopefully will be ready to go.

My only thing is Kawhi wasn't getting any treatment on the bench for his ankle. I saw him getting some for his knee earlier in the game but you'd think they'd do something or hi ankle depending on how serious it was. At the very least I figured they would have iced it to prevent swelling.

Hopefully we get more info today.

Trust me I want Kawhi to play and I want to end this in 6. But it depends how bad the swelling is and if he can be effective. The question is do you play Kawhi at 60% for Game 6 and Game 7? Or try to get him to 75-80% for Game 7? Also cannot forget about the knee which is his other leg...

That's my concern. I don't want Pop to pull a Coach Shanahan and play an injured player (RGIII) and turn a routine injury into a catastrophic one.

Fool - SA has been compe ive with GS all year. Sure GS is playing at another level right now and will be fully healthy/rested, but SA won't get crapped on every single game.

You don't give up POs games (unless you are Pop), if you are able to play even at 60% you play... Put all your chips on a game 7 is dumb...
