Oh, sure. If Kawhi is legit injured then for sure. But SA is not the same caliber of team as POR or UTA. They are much better. They have had regular season success (not that it matters much). They can't beat a GS team in a series but they won't get on every game. That is just overly pessimistic IMO.

In fact, if anyone is being literal with their statements and really thinks SA gets swept by double digits every game, I will bet them on it.

Obviously SA has to get to the WCF I mean, is that not obvious? If Kawhi is playing, for purposes of the bet we will consider that not injured.

If he misses actual games, then he's injured.

This isn't the regular season where resting players that aren't quite 100% is OK. It should be all hands on deck. The Spurs are not a dominant home team and they don't make love to pressure. They could just as easily lose to Houston at home in a game 7 with Kawhi as they could without him in game 6. Quite a gamble on the part of Pop because if they lose the series and it's found out later that he could've played in Game 7, he's going to get murdered by the media.

If the ultimate goal is winning a le, you need to get Kawhi back to full health. If you rush him back, he may be playing at less than 100% the rest of the way. Odds are low against GSW with him healthy, but are as good as zero if he's not healthy.

Say odds tonight went from 30% (gimpy Kawhi) to 10%. Healthy Kawhi on Sunday vs. gimpy pushes odds from 60% to 70%. Your odds of winning the series are about the same in the 10%+70% case as in the 30%+60% case ... 10% + (90%*70%) = 73% as compared to 30% + (70%*60%) = 72%. And your odds against GSW are much better if Kawhi gets that rest. Yes, these numbers are theoretical but played into the calculation of holding him out.

Well either he's really hurt and maybe Game 7 is in question or Pop and I are on the same page..

what the media thinks..it's all about winning the series..5 full days of rest/treatment is HUGE

Agree with this decision. If he doesn't get healthy Spurs have 0% chance of beating Golden State.

I don't know when the WCF's begins but the Spurs still have to get by Houston. I don't like precautionary rest games. The problem here is if Kawhi isn't 100% for game6 , there's a possibility he won't be 100% for game 7. Even if he's at 75%, he should be giving it a go to see if he can help the team. Game 7 is no guarantee just because it's a home game.

All you ing idiots thinking about GS or winning Game 7 are going to be wishing you would've gotten an opportunity to close out with an 80-90% Kawhi today when Game 7 goes down to the wire. , most of you will have even taken the 3% chance they came back in Game 4 if Poop hadn't thrown in the towel after three quarters.

Playing the long game is always a mastermind move until you don't even ing make it to the end of the game.
