My thoughts too, it would have been a lot more interesting if they had done more interviews. One viewpoint does not really a good sample make (other than the author they interviewed)
What she did say was telling. "go against the system, and go to jail".
This is part of the reason Russia has experienced a huge brain-drain of educated professionals.
