This is Kawhi's team but when you see DJ out there his body languange is that of "I'm the new HOTS" and am not saying that in a bad way. Just that instead of sweat, what his body expels is 100% pure confidence. This is something you'll never be able to say about LMA no matter how well he plays.
Good call and good contrast - Dijon with LMA.

Furthermore, Murray got hurt at the worst possible time, totally re ed his development.
Getting hurt at the same time as the guy you're backing rarely turns into a great career opportunity... so much PT he could have had but didn't. Hopefully he'll stay on the court this time.

I was really hoping we'd be able to steal Mike Conley away, but I'm starting to like the idea of Mills/Murray as our PGs if we can keep Mills
Were you looking to make a trade or just looking to 2020? That's when he could terminate his contract early. (His is the second highest salary in the league, you know...)

Zach Lowe with the props ..

    • Murray is going to be good. His feel and craft jump off the screen. The Spurs' point guard situation is one of the most important short- and long-term questions in the league. Tony Parker's status is uncertain. Patty Mills is a free agent, and the Spurs want him back. He is an important part now of their culture. It's tempting to suggest the Spurs can get by with Mills and Murray as place-holders until they figure out a permanent answer in the starting lineup. San Antonio can clearly win 55-plus games in the regular season that way. I'm beginning to think they could do it starting one of Matt Bonner's favorite sandwiches on the wing.

Hes arenas ruled he cant get that much

He could get like 3/24 and then 25mil a year or something like that.

Like those Lin and Asik contracts a couple years back
Simmon's Arenas-max should be like $65M/4 or something like that. The Arenas rule only applies to offer sheets, though. The Spurs could offer him like $107M/4 if they had the cap space to do so.

They say the MLE starts at $7.75 Million. A one-and-one seems like the best contract for both parties, but if PATFO think he's a keeper, then $45M/4 wouldn't be a bad deal to come in strongly with before the year ends.

Yes as someone mentioned 2018 summer only LA, Leonard, Green, and Murray on the books.

Lots of opportunity to re-arrange for contention.

Not sure why anyone would want an old PG in Paul after watching Parker break down over the last couple of years. Keep Murray Mills and you're set at that position.

If we're talking offseason moves that will improve this team, you need to go get a guy like Re who can core in bunches and open up things more for our inside game.

His style of play reminds me of Penny Hardaway. He's not as athletic as Penny and is a little smaller height wise since Penny was 6'7 and Murray is 6'5 but outside of that his game is very similar. Also his body frame is very similar to Penny. He has a lot of confidence which borders on arrogance but I think its going to be a huge reason why he'll be a good player. If he works hard he can be a special player.

My concern is if Murray gets better he is going to take more shots and with Kawhi I don't see LMA getting many shots. He needs to be involved or he disappears on offense and defense.......makes me wonder if this does happen
would it be better to get a shot blocking rebounding center for this draft?

Paul would give the Spurs a high ceiling for 2-3 years before a real decline kicked in. But we all know he's not taking a pay cut to come here and Spurs won't over pay for him. But don't mistake how great a player he is. He's a top 3 point guard with an argument that he's number one. He would be a tremendous get. But he's staying with the Clippers, who will trade for Melo and vie for another average ceiling with a slightly different look.

2-3 years of a high ceiling, with Paul only signed for 4 years (all we can offer him), doesn't seem that bad a deal. Especially if CP3 ages well, which his game suggests he might... I would have no problem with Murray being the back up PG for those 3 "good" years, and then giving him the reigns (and a big contract) if he has learned well...

However, you are right in that CP3 is likely to take the money and stay with LAC. Not to mention that it would be quite difficult to make the space for him.

Keep in mins this was after Parker was starting the entire season...So he was given the greenlight from jump...I'm sure if Murray was treated the same, he would have good numbers this post season since he is more talented than parker as a rookie

Yes, he shrunk under pressure and shot an inefficient 40% in the conference semifinals when we needed him most. MVParker.

Is it any any coincidence that the Spurs won the game in which he shot the least shot attempts and played his worst game and lot all the others? No, it isn't. Exactly.
