I didn't think so coming in. Then came the mass destruction in the first half. Every time the Warriors tried to come back, our guys answered. It looked very sustainable and likely to finish ahead by double digits. So I began to believe. It looks pretty slim but I still kinda think there's a fighters chance. Anybody else? For all the lack of talent and playmaking we complain about a lot, you can't deny this team has some of the most heart of any recent Spurs team I've seen. If Kawhi makes it back game 3, do we have a shot still?

Game 1 was the best game to win and take control of the series. We've already lost that edge.

Game 1 was great because it's where we could have caught them off-guard, and prior to Zaza being a it worked. It was basically Game 1 of our Rocket series. The Warriors were caught being sluggish and underestimating the Spurs (much like we did Game 1 against Houston). They came alive and won, unlike the Spurs against the Rockets.

Now, the Warriors know what it takes even with Kawhi. I think this series is over, and many did even before Game 1.

I think we have a realistic shot as long as Kawhi is healthy (or healthy enough to be effective). 2 point loss on the road, no big deal. Forget the comeback. We can obviously play with these guys. Kawhi's health is key.

We can't collapse in later games after blowing a big lead in one ala the Pacers.... Pop and team culture is too strong for that. But we need KL to have a chance. (KL's 2018 MVP campaign starts now.)

If Kawhi is healthy for the remaining games, we have a shot, but not a good one. This was our best shot and it has been wasted. Unlike last series, I do not believe that we can pull one out against GSW sans Kawhi.

Assuming they shoot Kawhi up with enough painkillers I feel like we have a chance. We obviously have the ability to win at Oracle, but we've been shaky at home at times this year.

It all depends on if we can protect home court. We can win a game 5 or 7 at Oracle.

No doubt I want the Spurs to win but without KL is just to tough for the Spurs.......I can see the Spurs getting one win at home....Warriors in 5.....Maybe the Spurs can prove me wrong again...

Kawhi most likely isn't playing till game 3 so our chances to win the series are awful. They are the more talented team. An upset almost certainly included taking game 1 even with healthy Kawhi for all the games.

Of course playing on an F-upped ankle can lead to permanent damage. Two words: Grant Hill.

That said, Pop and the staff would shut him down and call it a season before eveni risking that. But as this is a re-injury, that shut down could be closer than we think. No way to know.

we have a slim shot at winning but i at least take comfort in the fact that we can compete and showed a lot of heart out there. we are not completely outmatched like i thought we would be

realistically coming into this series i just didnt wanna get embarrassed and skull drug. *shrug*

it is what it is . i still have hope

So it seems like as long as Kawhi returns Tuesday or Saturday, we're really/semi confident this will still be interesting. I agree. If Kawhi is out for the series, our guys take a surprise home game and nothing more.

Kawhi wasnt at full strength today at any time. And he still destroyed. Looks to me like he just needs to be present on the floor.

No way Kawhi plays Game 2 with the way he was limping out, carried by Sevening.

Spurs will fight. They'll win no less than two games, which ain't bad considering they handicapped those lucky gots two games already.

Spurs have to play with the same intesnity they did in the first half for 48 minutes. Even without kawhi this team should've still won when they are up by 20 in the 3rd.
Also, pau cannot play in this series.

I'm that angry right now. I'm not giving up. This is a point where you realize if you're a or not. If you give up, you'll do it over and over again (even in life situations). I'm not giving up at all. Spurs need to fight for it. Keep pushing them hard and see if they will crack. Keep applying the pressure and playing all out and see if they will crack. Just keep going. Don't give up. Keep fighting.

Agreed. As much as I hate the Warriors the Spurs can't risk the next 8-10 years of Kawhi's career just to win this series. It's not worth it in the long run.

If the Spurs can miraculously win Game 2 there is hope, but if not there is absolutely no way in they win 4 of 5 games over Golden State.

Kawhi would have to heal enough by Game 3, and the Spurs would have to go on a tear. I don't there's a high chance of that. But that's the possible "realistic shot" I see. I guess the post above about winning Game 2 is another avenue; though, I've just sort of already marked Game 2 as an L.

You must go absolute ape during games. I mean I do too but you're on another level. Your "intensity" as a fan is ridiculous.

You're such a trooper, not giving up. That means you'll have to sacrifice some points from your Lonestar card to get more Doritos and salsa, some churros and some leche. You're the special forces of NBA fans. How's your ankle?

Ice's rants about Ryan Anderson were classic, tbh..
