Spurs get blown out early is the expectation.
Alright, enough feeling bad about Game1
What you think we can improve for Game2? Any positive take?
Gotta feeling Leonard will be out for Game2.
Spurs get blown out early is the expectation.
Without Kawhi it will be a blowout loss.
We're going to get blown the out.![]()
If the Spurs intend to win this series, they have to win one on the road. Game 2 is one more chance to do that.
That's about the positives I could think of....
In before some pessimist posts the "Mr. T. 'Pain'" clip from Rocky III![]()
I might be the only one here who still believes in taking a game sans Kawhi. It's not likely of course but hey, they still looked pretty good at times and the Warriors weren't hitting everything they threw up at the rim. Ya never know![]()
Put all your chips in winning Game 5 or 7. Get Kawhi as healthy as possible by skipping Game 2 and concentrate on winning Spurs first two home games. Far from ideal but that's your best shot.
KL might be out for the whole series.....Not worth further injuring that bum ankle......Spurs just have to roll with what they got.....Still amazes me that pop doesn't use Dedmon....
Bruh they were outscored by 25 points in 19 mins without Kawhi. Not sure how that gives you hope. The Warriors aren't as disinterested or willing to lay down like Haren did.
Spurs come out slow, get in a hole early. Pop brings in players who do OK because they aren't taken seriously and ST s their pants over them as if they should have been playing all along. GS 2-0 going into SA.
Thats what Ive been screamin, Got beat on the boards tonight! Been wantin'em since Nene went out.
No doubt this playoffs have been heart wrenching....Tony Parker going down was a big loss to the Spurs and I thought that the Spurs were done but no the Spurs proved me wrong....Than KL gets hurt and doesn't play game 6 and than im thinking its really over but no Spurs prove me wrong again....Than I say to myself hhmm its going to be tough to beat the Warriors at home but boy I was wrong....It surely looked like the Spurs were going to win game 1 and than boom KL hurts his ankle...not 1 but 2 times.....no doubt with a healthy KL Spurs can beat the Warriors.....Just too bad he had to reinjure that ankle....IDK if the Spurs can do the impossible once again....will see what happens.....
If Pop is smart he sits Kiwi and Manu, concedes the game and uses it to experiment. See what the bench guys like Davis and Dewayne can do against the Dubs, and gear up for game 3.
Spurs just added an assistant coach and player for game 2.

I just posted a reply to someone else about this same scenario, and yes, that is a possible strategy. I just don't know if you should be conceding games against the Warriors. Against almost anyone else, I'd say go for it, but not sure if you should be trying to do that against these guys.
I agree that its not a very good shot, but its the best shot. If you hurry Kawhi back for game 3 and he's far from full speed you'll lose. And, if he injures it a third time, (or really a fifth time as both Houston Game 5 and Dubs Game 1 had two separate twists of the ankle) you're gonna have to shut him down for the season. And then its really over.
The long lay off until Game 3 is our one chance of KL getting passably healthy. If we get blown out in Game 2, Dubs may relax a bit and we can get Game 3, then Game 4 becomes the key. Long shot, but so is rushing Kawhi back, and at least this option is less likely to risk his career. Grant Hill gutted it through on a bad ankle, messed it up so bad he had to have surgery, and went from a top 5 player at the time to a marginal scrub for the rest of his career.
A good friend of mine called me after the game and made a reference to that movie when it came to Kawhi's injury. His exact words was Zaza Kobra Kai'd Kawhi.
I don't know much about GH but I think the doctors or team lied to him about the extent of the damage. You can bet Pop or the team or the Doctor aint gonna lie to Kawhi.
Someone on the warriors will fake a "someone put their foot under me" fall then blow up and act like he wants to fight just to make it look like the Spurs tried to retaliate so the media can say now they're even.
I agree. Which is why I expect they will 1) target game 3 for a return and 2) if there's another ankle twist, even if relatively minor and even if the spurs have made it a series, they'll shut him down.
Deadmon's ejection vs Houston sealed his Nazr Mohammed fate. A pity, love the guy too.
Oh and it'll be a blowout loss.
That's cool, ZaZa made it look like he did not intend to place his foot there but he did. I have watched the replay several times, definitely intentional. Warriors are a bunch of 3 point shooting cheaters.
