Im guessing he would not have liked tail parties at the Dominion.
You don't want to dull the senses.
That won't do.
You guys getting in a boat and drinking then going all Hemingway...
Wake up, Find yourself in Spain running from Bulls in a drunken stupor... Cmaaan.
Im guessing he would not have liked tail parties at the Dominion.
lol. highly unlikely.
I don't drink when I'm captain or even on small boats, but if I'm in a sportfisher and we have hours to waste getting to fertile grounds, you can bet I'm squeezing a lime into a drink while playing cards enroute.
Or Rock&Hammer wine tasting parties in the same locale tbh
Yeah, offshore I'm popping a beer by noon and dumping the top off over the side as a toast to the fishing gods. They always get the first sip. Life doesn't get better than being into billfish on a big sportfisher.
just rember trump was better then sanders and Clinton
Maybe as I mature.
Right now, too much sitting not enough doing.
Have you been to Venice for the yellowfin tuna? That's a kick ass action packed trip. of a meat haul too.
Pgardn, you fish placid, right? My sis in law just caught a 6# bass off my deck at McQueeney (during the day). I put in a couple underwater lights that are super bright and the mayfly hatch after dark has been a of a show. It attracts them to lay their eggs and die. Sometimes 60 catfish at a time ( that you can see) up to 30" long slurping mayflies on the surface. Very cool.
The lights are awesome. Check out fishlights.com

It may be too windy tonight but I can see about thirty cruising the lights waiting just in case.
Wow. Not even a big hatch tonight but probably a hundred cruising the lights. More every week. I have only had them out for less than a month.
What kind of catfish? Channel? Must be. I have found them in their gut. The channels from the lake are a bit fatty compared to the river IMO.
And you are right on about the hatch. We saw it on the Llano just last weekend. We caught the biggest group of River bass I have ever seen. Largemouth and Guadalupe hybrids (beautiful fish that fight much harder than largemouth)
We are out before sundown though.
Kayak in the bays mostly.
On the camping trips we kayak all the gear to places we usually don't see anyone else and take advantage of the remoteness. In Yellowstone its way back in the no prop zones after the ice has broken (Probably why the fishing so good; remoteness as well) up in June. I have a friend who researches it all (permits/sites) and we go for it. We have done different parts of Yellowstone 3 times and Shashonee (sp? Only once) One guy lives in Colorado and built a kayak trailer and we keep all our Ocean kayaks there and drive up. We keep all our sit on top kayaks down here. The Colorado guys come down here for bay fishing. I occasionally go to the rigs in the Gulf but it's tough. And gotta watch the weather real close. Just bought a peddle drive so I may be out in the gulf more often. Lots of good eating fish hanging around the rig pilings. Took a dive boat and just snorkled them. Big snapper, really big mangroves which are delicious. We got to get a method for catching. The Kings, jacks and sharks are fun but not eating any of that and don't wanna have to drag a ling back in to the beach.
You sure like to talk about yourself.
Also it should be a nonstarter to think that the situation for those coming into their majority nowadays is anything like what it was for you 40 years ago but that of course doesn't stop you.
College costs have only more than quadrupled relative to inflation and then of course there are the population dynamics where the outgoing are not only massive in quan y but also in career lifespan as opposed to what was going on in the 1960s and 70s.
And spare me the line about one half paying the other half as if you and your ilk are the one's being bilked. The Reagan generation was and remains big on voting in a free ride. That is you. And outside of Obama there has been deregulating regimes in Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush the lesser. That is what has gotten us into this fiscal hole. The regulatory regime of your parents that was dismantled was the environment that allowed you to succeed.
