We certainly can win with a healthy Kawhi no doubt in my mind. Thing that scares me is the nba is very close to a ratings bananza with the tie-breaker. Don't think they won't push it to happen.
Reverse sweep incoming..and then the league will the spurs and let gsw win![]()
What's the point in playin if this game is rigged.![]()
Imagine the hype around game 1, when GS and CLE both come in at 12-0..
It is in the NBA's best interest to get some eyeballs on the WCF, refs should certainly favor us in Game 3 and 4 and then they will get monster ratings if its 2-2 going back to GS with a healthy Kawhi. This series still has the potential to be the best series of the playoffs.
STOP. You sound like a dumbass rox fan
Remember when Ibaka came back for OKC and they got the series to 2-2 against us. Look for a similar effect here.
Holy crap we need to have a healthy Kawhi Leonard to beat the GSW. That would be the ing ultimate. You know Cleveland beat the Celtics so bad because Kawhi is hurt right? Lebron doesn't think he will face his nemesis and his mouth is watering.
Tie breaker between the Cavs and Warriors? They'd also make a lot of money if the Spurs come back and tie up the series and push it to a 6 or 7 game series. The ECF probably won't make them much money or have high ratings.
So now we're banking on the refs and a "healthy Kawhi?" *♂️
Sure but you can believe there's no way they let us win a close game 6 or 7. Also the idea of 2 undefeated teams meeting in the finals must arouse them very much.
Even if Kawhi came back at 100% (he won't), Spurs have like 0.00001% chance. Game 1 was too important.
I'm not giving up, you can if you want. The Cavs were in a worse situation than we currently are, and they came back and won it.
If Kawhi is healthy enough to play, we can at least come back and tie it up.
Winning this series might be the biggest accomplishment of any Spurs team (even more than any of the five les).
Commentators are already getting into the subtleties of the Cav-Warriors series -- not even bothering to say "if" those teams advance.
Win the next two at home and let's see what happens.
Agreed
We had the mismatch in our favor with Simmons guarding Curry and Kawhi on Durant. Now, Simmons have to guard Durant again, a mismatch in favor of Warriors. I was still confident even down 2-0 until I saw the news about Kawhi this morning. This is really sad for Spurs fans..
We had a shot with healthy Kawhi, and game 1. But then caucasian troglodyte had best moment of his career.
Aaaaaaaand Kawhi is listed as out![]()
Kawhi looked great in Game 1 after the first few minutes when the ankle was presumably no longer stiff. But when he hobbled so horridly after just barely stepping on his teammate's foot, Oaf Pachulia smelled blood in the water. League didn't do .
To channel my inner Pop: And you're asking me if we believe we have a realistic shot in this series?
So yeah.. Kawhi's out.
Absent a GSW injury, they will win it all. Lol at people impressed with Cavs beating the Celtics, who the Spurs could beat without Kawhi. Sad that Kawhi can't make this Spurs series more interesting. But using "realistic" as the standard, it is unrealistic that the Spurs will win a game, let alone the series.
It sucks. The two games this year when both teams played full rosters, GSW couldn't cover Leonard.
One and a half games that is.
Ok. So if, and I mean IF, Spurs somehow pulled this game off, I wonder if Kawhi returns game 4....
