poor choice of words on my behalf....... it let me clarify
i give it all i got in enemy territory but after a while it's 10 on 1 and i eventually die (figuratively) arguing with everybody and that's when i suck it up.

Pop plays the long game, right or wrong, he's not risking Kawhi's health down 0-3. 3rd (or 4th) sprained ankle of the postseason.
The talent disparity between the Warriors and the Spurs without Kawhi and Parker is enormous, far greater than the disparity between LeBrons and Celtics without their 40% shooting midget.
Most conservative coach in the league as well tbh what other playoff coach concedes playoff games?
I'm still surprised that he wasn't even one of the three finalists for NBA COY
Poop and Danny Green prefer to joke about it "we have them right where we want them"
That's not the feisty serious at ude Celtics had tonight
None of them. Spurs win G3 if Kawhi suits up. Durcant is as beta as they come... he's playing without pressure right now that Kawhi is out. G1 was the perfect example. The 3rd quarter he had doesn't happen if Klaw is there.
aka Poop gave up, and all that rest micromanaging throughout the season was for naught...
Who knows? We might have had more injuries is Pop hadn't done that. Might never have made the WCF. Impossible to say.
If there's no demonstrable benefit, then we enter the realm of faith and it's worthless. Actually, it's worse than worthless, since it can certainly cost your team wins, which bring disadvantages both at the compe ion and business level, like losing HCA, diminished stamina, diminished product quality, etc.
I love Manu playing until he's 40, but realistically, if the option was to win 2 more rings with him playing heavier minutes in his prime and only playing until he was 35, then I'll take the rings...
You need to give it a try IMO.
Send your resume to RC and I bet you will get a coaching job in which you gonna take notes from Stevens to win the series vs warriors
An injured Kawhi was only going to help the Spurs win a game or two. Pop did the right thing by not jeopardizing the future of the franchise.
Dont be a dumb dude. We can and possibly could be worse with more injuries. Injuries happen because something is weak in the legs. A "regular" basketball hit can be dangerous if you are worn out. I can't believe how much I have to explain this . even after Tim, Manu, Tony were able to play great to good for a long time. It wasn't by chance.![]()
LOL. , I should have bought the resting up. I can't believe that I didn't even bring it up this past week. I'm a humongous proponent against it. What a waste of time that resting was/is.
I think I found Skip Bayless on ST
Easily fixed - Spurs just need 4 or 5 lottery picks like the other contenders.
^ Sure, ac ulating assets helps to trade for players, like the Cavs for example, who traded their 4th overall pick Waiters for Shumpert and JR Smith![]()
Boston's Thomas trade was amazing, though, that's true. They made out like bandits that trade deadline where they also got a useful player in Jerebko for the corpse of Tayshaun Prince.
no offense to thomas, but he is nowhere near the same player as leonard, especially on the defensive side of the ball. in fact, his loss for the celtics is far more equal to the spurs losing parker than it is losing kawhi.
The systems are also not comparable. Spurs defensive schemes rely on Kawhi. Thomas is a defensive liability for Boston. And the Spurs two best creators of offense are injured (Parker and Kawhi). The role players got their offense from those guys. But without Parker's penetration and Kawhi's demand for doubles, its harder for the role players to manufacture good shots. And they have to manufacture shots for 48 minutes to keep up with the league's best offense.
One last point I'd like to make, usually when a team is down 0-3, 1-3, 2-3 or whatever, a team that shows some dignity and compe ive spirit usually says the following lines to the media or along similar lines:
"If anyone can come back from this deficit, I believe we can do it, I have faith in our team and our guys and we're going to do everything we can to win"
Some like that they always say if anybody can do it we can or like that not backing down. But nope after the third quarter of Game 1 the Spurs were basically conveying the following to the media when they were asked if they had a chance to win:
Pop and danny green laughing and making fun of the fact that we're gonna lose and other players just keep on saying how great of a team the warriors are. WTF quit being some boot licking mother effing trustees
I knew what you meant bro, just thought it was funny.
Celtics scored 111 points and LeBron played a really bad game. I don't think 111 points beats Golden State.
