    I'll play devil's advocate:

He's a #2 (at best) that was asked to be a #1 after Kawhichael went down. Lost in the past four games is the fact that LMA was doing his job in Game 1. We also know his defense is much improved. I think he still has a place on this team if Pop just embraces the fact that he isn't the offensive star we all thought we were getting. No more forcefeeding. Let him get his points off of offensive boards, pick and pop, assisted finishes around the basket, and the occasional mismatch down low. Maybe encourage him to start shooting more threes too. Just no more forcefeeding. Emphasize that he needs to come back in better shape. If he doesn't show up looking slimmer, then you trade him during the season.
Yeah because that's how Aldridge wants to be used. You forget Aldridge had been begging for the ball more, and when the time came to do it, he shriveled.

Bring that guy you want pop to ask him to be will mean he will give even less effort, and that's a horrible thought considering the effort we just saw.

I don't think effort was ever the issue with him. He battled, and seemed to want to contribute he just isn't good enough to be a "4 down" guy on an elite team.

But if he's not willing to accept a diminished role than there's no other option but to get rid of him, tbh.

Effort / will, call it what you want. But it's a problem when you can't back down or out rebound the other teams guards.

And let's not forget he's come into camp overweight...TWICE. To me, that's definitely a lack of effort.

Just want to see him enter camp in shape, tbh..

Parker worked on his body following the 2015 embarrassment(Pop said it would be a priority) and came into camp in great shape, which led to a resurgent first half of the year(before age and injuries caught up)..hopefully Pop assigns Aldridge the same homework. .

No thank you! This dude doesn't want to compete. It's bad when you have a distinct advantage and not use it is a telling sign about your mental makeup. Losing happens but lack of effort is unacceptable.....

Once you coach dudes like Tim, Manu, Kawhi....... It's hard to accept the Aldridges of the world.

I'm going to be refreshing Twitter every five seconds on draft night in hopes they snooker someone into taking him.

He doesn't suck, tbh. He's a good player. He's just not great, which is what Spurs paid him to be. He is not a Spur. He is the opposite type of player we need on the team. He doesn't appear to have that compe ive fire, poor passer, low efficiency. Other than Gasol, he's the worst value player on the team...and the drop off from #2 to #3 isn't close.

I dislike him as much as any of you, but it's probably better to keep him, tbh..if he puts in the work, he's still better than anything the Spurs could realistically get in return..his stock is lower than it has ever been, atm..

I could understand if they want to move him for morale reasons, though..

At this point I'd move him for anybody useful. If Boston strikes out in free agency maybe see if Ainge is stupid enough to offer Bradley. Weren't the Celtics rumored to be a landing spot for Aldridge earlier in the season?

lol poop just took a subtle shot at LA, poop just said that no big men are willing to play on the low block anymore and everyone jut wants to shoot
Haha to me thats not so subtle. Its all about how you go in the playoffs . LA was a big disappointment. Spurs will go in another direction

    Nah RJ wasn't this embarrassing.
Let me ask you bc I missed RJ time in the Spurs...
    Is this for real?
Do you think Pop is really sick of him and will legit look to trade him?

I think the fact that Kawhi got injured stopped concealing everything. In a way the only silver lining of Kawhi's injury is that everything that his greatness was concealing is getting exposed.

I enjoyed watching Anderson play more. At least he competed.

    Nah
    That can't fly.
Young NBA players that spent time in the dleague, in Pop's doghouse and played out of position all season showed more compe ive fire.
    I don't know. He doesn't have it.

Theres a reason why SA was really interviewing Jaylen Brown hard a year ago. The only expendable piece they had to move that high was LA. Makes you think about what team they were talking to.

I get that he missed Kawhi and esp Parker on offense but his defense wan't great in previous games and his rebounding was weak...

Every time I remember that Pels got Cousins for nothing...
