not this again. Speedy went on to a long and stellar post-Spurs career
But, for a couple playoff games, he did our team solid and praise should be given.

The losing record to the Lakers is primarily due to Phil Jackson knowing how to make adjustments to stop him. I remember Tony being able to open a series against them getting where he wanted, when he wanted, and by game 2 or 3 getting nullified without the Spurs coaches counter-punching real effectively. That was really the only team that slowed Tony down in his prime. If Tony had the range on his shot back then that he has now he probably would have been unstoppable.

Tony's the best PG in team history and one of the top 5 Spurs of all-time.

He'd be 0-1 against the Nets if not for Speedy Claxton tbh.
Facts...Young spurs fans may not remember...Dude was benched heavily at times for speedy because of his bad play

Watching Billups bully Tony in 05 Finals was hard to watch, tbh.
Billups was more Marbury than Boobie. Those muscular point guards have always bullied Porker.

It was no secret that you just had to pack the paint against him. And was still working in 2011 with the Grizzlies even after he developed that jumpshot. Also SJax blames him for the backdoor sweep in 2012. And remember who was conveniently missing when they won game 6 in OKC in '14.

Lmao Manure s slobbing each other up over a 20yr old Parker struggling in the playoffs.

Some players are good enough to be NBA starters at 19 years old. Others play in Southern Mexico and Italy until they're 25.

At the end of the day, Parker has more playoff points and assists than your boy. Don't forget s

Packing the paint was Phil's approach to neutering Porker.

The other way of erasing him from a series is with a long defender such as Thabo Sefolosha.

Well, Kawhi stole FMVP from Duncan so I guess it's all relative. No use mentioning him up until the finals because he was pretty much non-existent.
    Kawhi didn't steal fmvp

Veteran point guard Tony Porker is benched in favor of MVClaxton should rookie Manu Ginobili gets the minutes in the closout game.

Porker has always been awful in closeout games tbh. Just look at 6/23 and 4/12 in the closeout games from the 2013 Finals, his "injury" against Portland in game 6 in 2014, and his scoreless performance until garbage time in game 5 in the 2014 Finals tbh. And many more...tbh...he also was awful against LAL in 2004. 3/11 in game 7 against Detroit in 2005 (Manu and Timmy carried us ).
