Parker started dominating Hughes early and Mike Brown made the switch at the 8 minute mark of the first quarter of G1, when he put Lebron on Parker. It did nothing to slow him down as we know, so they continued to rotate different defenders on Parker all series to try and throw different looks at him. The revisionist history on this board is off the charts.

The proof is in the pudding -- Parker was the Finals MVP.

The first time Tim Duncan was not the MVP in a Spurs le run.

I believe Parker was the Finals MVP in 2013 as well but Evita hijacked his glory

Duncan should have been Finals MVP in '14.

He would have been Finals MVP in three decades, unprecedented.

No offense to Leonard, but that was the greatest injustice of Tim's career.

Tim wasn't going to win MVP in '14. But in '13, he was apparently on ballots of writers at the end of game 6 until Ray Allen happened.

Hughes wad injured and barely played that finals (-8mpg to ecf, only 2 games), to a lesser extent Zydrunas also (-7mpg). Boogie went from 24mpg in the ecf to 34 in the Finals. The Cavs in the Finals were not the same as the Cavs in the ecf.
2007, like 2014, are great examples of why finals mvp should be playoffs mvp. First, because the most difficult series isn't necessarily the last, second, because consistency across matchups should matter.

I'll give Tony credit though, he was great against the Suns (real finals), way more impressive than beating up on the broken Cavs. Tim was still better though.

For that series but its similar to kobe getting the lakers to the finals then shaq beats up on the rik smits and Jason Collins of the world to win FMVP

10 years ago. Good memory with no relevance to present date. Tony will be lucky if he ever plays again. Tough injury at his age.

Rio was the best Guard on the floor in games 6 & 7, and it wasn't even close. Wade, Manu and Tony should all be ing embarrassed by that fact.

No until Pop happened. He should have kept TD on the floor and he knows it. He would have secured the rebound and #5 + FMVP.

    2013 NBA Finals:

    Parker: 16/6 on 41%
    Chalmers: 11/2 on 39%

    2014 NBA Finals:

    Parker: 18/5 on 48%
    Chalmers: 4/3 on 33%

    Lol

Duncan might have won it because the others would have been split between Parker & Green with a token one for Lebron despite the loss.

No way Parker doesn't win FMVP if Ginobili or Kawhi make a free throw. Not only was he statistically there after G6 (Duncan had a great G7 of course), but he hit the game-clincher in G1 and then hit the step-back 3 to tie, stole the ball, and hit the go-ahead bucket in G6. Clutchest sequence end to a Finals since Jordan over Russell.

U might've missed the part where I said games 6 & 7. The two crucial games we lost.

Wasn't that the game he put up 30 and 17 in?
