What the president said, for 90 days, we were going to pause in terms of people from those countries coming to the United States that would give me time to look at additional vetting to see –”

Trump has once again been allowed to tweet without adult supervision, and the outcome is that he destroyed his administration’s legal argument with a tweet that will definitely be used against him if the Supreme Court ever hears the full case on the cons utionality of Trump’s executive order.

Because he was allowed to tweet without adult supervision, Trump may have destroyed his Muslim ban.

The Iranians hated Carter. They wanted to embarrass him by keeping the hostages until he was out of office. They weren't gonna negotiate with him no matter what. Reagan only negotiated with Iran when it came to hostages kidnapped in Lebanon. Had nothing to do with the hostages in Iran.

Legal experts said Trump’s latest comments not only undercut the government’s legal strategy, but cast doubt on the need for the Supreme Court to intervene.

“They said this was a matter of urgency. But if they are already doing the extreme vetting, why do you need an order from the court?”

“I don’t envy the solicitor general,”

The lawyers on the other side, fighting the Trump team in court, were quick to say they were pleased by the president’s comments.

“It’s kinda odd to have the defendant in Hawaii v. Trump acting as our co-counsel,”

Trump had “undercut the picture the government has been trying to paint.”

Lawyers for the government “have made a diligent effort to demonstrate” that the travel order “was not about religious animus,” he said, nor was it an effort to fulfill Trump’s campaign pledge to enact a “Muslim ban.” But Trump’s tweets belie those claims
