why do people glorify the old flagrant fouls as something positive to look back on?

all it means is they would be ejected our fouled out within 15 minutes because they lack the skill and ability to play defense without grabbing and pushing. instead, imagine if today's great defenders had the chance to play in the 90's when you could get away with murder ... people think draymond green gets away with a lot now? just imagine him in the 90's

Best spurs team gets a gentlemen's sweep from light skinned 3pt shooter and Durant, tbh
No in way THe '05 Spurs could control the tempo with Duncan in the post or run and gun with Ginobili and Parker and also had their own 3 point shooters in Bowen, Barry, Horry and Gino. Prime Parker and Ginobili run a train on this soft ass Warriors defense and who in the is going to stop Duncan? Zaza? Even the '05 Suns would give this Warriors team a run.

Hard fouls had a psychological aspect on the game. Think about the '04 WCF when Parker was having his way against the Lakers and making them look like fools. Game 3 LA said that and laid the wood on Parker all game. He shrunk and was never the same player after that. That's what hard fouls can do to a finesse player.

Chauncey was one of the most clutch playoff performers ever
Chauncey was 6-37 (16.2%) on game-deciding shots from 2003-2009. He was a very good point guard overall, but that's it.

tbh even though I think the 03-04 Pistons would get murdered, I think the 05 Spurs would be a toss up with this Golden State team. You get a guy who can control them inside all game and it's a totally different ball game. Too bad there's no team that is capable of that nowadays nor would the Pistons be able to do so either

These lakers fans they are all cut by the same knife - they hate LBJ because he's the best since MJ and now they also hate the 2004 pistons because they've got their assess handed to them and they were actually fully stacked like
California in general is the hole of the world. Hope it breaks off due to the San Andreas fault and gets annexed by North Korea.

Duncan would school that mother er just with his eyes. He would stare at him and Zaza would on his pants. He would bankshot him into oblivion. There's a reason there was never a player who would mess with Duncan in his entire career - the only one who actually tried to do that was Sheed and he got spanked.

Don't ever remember Sheed disrespecting Duncan. Sheed had mad respect for Duncan going back to when they played against each other in college.

I don't know if I agree with Rasheed on the Pistons beating them, but it's great that he bought up the defense thing.

I've been saying the past two years that they're not a great defensive team because I believe their defensive numbers are based on the other team missing shots by trying to keep up with them. Their offense (especially when they're hitting threes) puts a lot of pressure on the other team, and the other team comes down quite often and takes ill-advised 3 pointers, or other tough shots just trying to keep up with them scoring wise. It's makes the Warriors' defensive numbers look better than their defense actually is IMO. Basically, their offense is their best defense.

GS wouldn't have a shot against that Pistons's team. Fully-stacked Lakers with Malone and Payton got destroyed by that team.

Today's defense is weak and soft. Cavs are playing some D tonight and GS is feeling it. They have also allowed almost 50 pts in one quarter.

Yesterday you were saying sweep now you are saying Dubs in 5... lol
The amount of crap one has to read in this site. What the are you talking about? if there was one team who could be Detroit in 2005 was the Spurs and it was too close to call. Pistons should have had 2 rings in a row but the Spurs were at their peak. Best Spurs' team ever 05.

Spurs played huge D back in 2005 holding you to less than 90 pts a game. Dubs wouldn't have had a chance against that team - they would take away everything from you including the 3
One count of blasphemy. The NBA was great in 2004, the East was just terrible, makes today's East look like a gauntlet in comparison.

Meanwhile the West was off the charts great at that time. Garnett was a different species from another galaxy that year. LeBron was a raw rookie back then.

No, I'm not sure how you can infer disrespect from my comment. It could mean 1000 things. I responded to a comment that said "Duncan would be Zaza'd"; has Zaza disrespected anyone or has he played like a mother er instead? I don't think Zaza has disrespected anyone in this or the previous series. He's done other things. He would never be able to do those things to Dunca.

Timmy was huge that series, and against those Juggernaut defenders in the Wallace's. I got no idea how we got pass that Piston side. 05 TD would wreck the Warriors.

He's right. The dubs are one of the softest teams in league history. They'd fold like lawn chairs against the pistons.
