Durant went to a team that lucked into cap space because of Curry's ankles and a crazy e in the cap that had just beaten him the prior year after he choked and itself was returning all core players from a le team just a year earlier.

RJ was fine this series and actually played good man D. Played important minutes with Love in foul trouble. Deron was awful outside of game 4. And he's got way less of an excuse for sucking at a younger age.

You're right on the parallel for leaving though. Lebron left a horribly mismanaged situation where the best player they managed to put next to him was Ilgauskas. That's a scary thought. Durant had Westbrook but he's probably not the easiest guy to play with and the Thunder made blunder after blunder. Not wanting to pay Harden an extra $8 million over four years. Perkins. Turning Reggie Jackson into Kanter and then overpaying him. Being cheap and drafting Huestis because he'd sign for less. Never wanting to creep into the tax. Turning Ibaka into Oladipo and paying him. List goes on and on.
RJ should've retired after winning the championship after playing well in last years finals.
