MAN RAVAGED BY AMNESIA SOMEHOW ABLE TO HOLD DOWN DEMANDING LEGAL JOB
WASHINGTON—An Alabama man whose brain was ravaged by severe amnesia is somehow able to function in an extremely demanding legal job, leading neurologists reported on Tuesday.
The man, whom neurologists are calling a “medical mystery,” has performed highly exacting tasks in one of the country’s top legal positions despite having virtually no short- or long-term memory.
Dr. Davis Logsdon, the chairman of the neurology department at the University of Minnesota Medical School, said that the
Alabaman’s brain “defies explanation.”
“In all the medical literature, we have never seen an example of someone capable of holding down such a high-powered job while having no memory whatsoever of people he met, things he said, places he has been, or thoughts he has had,”
Logsdon said.
“It’s the stuff of science fiction.”
Logsdon said that his team of neurologists was studying video of the man in the hopes of understanding the paradoxical functioning of his brain, but Logsdon acknowledged that such a task was challenging.
“After listening to him talk for hours, your own brain starts to hurt,”
he said.

Which Sessions accidentally admitted to in the hearing like a ing idiot![]()
"Sessions now claims that that he had made what amounts to an in pectore recusal the day after he was sworn in (little shout out to you canon lawyers out there).
So in Sessions’ mind, what we thought was a recusal was just the formal version of what he had done in his head weeks earlier.
Again, this seems almost certainly false. Inevitably this elaborate ruse undermines his credibility about all the rest.
Comey seemed to have in mind something more than simply a technical reason requiring Sessions to recuse himself.
Big picture:
Sessions refused to answer the biggest questions;
he was almost certainly not telling the truth about what triggered his refusal.
Most of the rest was atmospherics."

Mike Huckabee Defends Trump and Sessions By Showing Off His Stunning Idiocy
You're probably hearing a lot of this because it's the Republican talking point.
But it's only meant for those who really don't understand the most basic ideas about our government.
That is to say, it's meant for the Trump base.
Here’s Mike Huckabee, willing to make himself look like a total idiot just to defend Trump and Sessions:That’a not how any of this works.
Gov. Mike Huckabee

Dems act like they never heard of atty/client privilege; AG is top atty in Exec branch; serves @POTUS and not stooge of Congress.

Jeff Sessions isn’t Matlock defending Trump in a very special episode.
There is no attorney-client privilege.
There has been no executive privilege asserted;
either it is asserted or the questions must be answered.
Sessions said he’s protecting the President’s right to invoke exec privilege and won’t answer if he and Trump discussed Russia in conversations regarding firing Comey,
but there’s no such thing as maybe might be executive privilege one day, so it’s secret for now.
It’s not as if Trump didn’t know Sessions was testifying.

McCain To Sessions: ‘I Don’t Recall You’ Being Interested In Russia As A Senator
“I don’t recall you as being particularly vocal on such issues,” McCain said.
“In your capacity as the chairman of the Strategic Forces Subcommittee,
what Russia-related security issues did you hold hearings on or otherwise demonstrate a keen interest in?”

I think I'll just use this thread as my daily chuckle.
There's plenty of things to criticize Trump about. I cringe every time he speaks.
But this derangement.
Hey Russia, if you're listening... (you know the rest)
I bet other Fed prosecutors have similar positions
Former federal prosecutor: If Trump isn’t already the subject of a criminal investigation, he ‘imminently will be’
Lizza spoke with Julie O’Sullivan—who served as a prosecutor on the team that investigated Bill and Hillary Clinton in the Whitewater scandal—said fired FBI Directory James Comeys’ testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee last week “would be enough to get an indictment” by a grand jury.
According to Sullivan, Trump’s attempt to quash the FBI investigation into former National Security Adviser Mike Flynn shows the president is orchestrating a cover-up.
“For a prosecutor, this attempt to hide the conversation, all antenna are going up,” O’Sullivan told Lizza.
“That tells you that he has a consciousness that what he’s about to do is wrong.
It’s like having a bonfire with do ents in the back yard.
It’s wonderful.
Seriously, this is the best thing ever for a prosecutor.”
A former federal prosecutor from Barack Obama’s administration likewise said it’s
likely Mueller will look into Trump’s attempt to stop the FBI investigation,
pointing to the president’s own admission that it guided his decision to fire Comey.
“There is no doubt in my mind that Mueller will investigate that,” the former federal prosecutor said.
“Trump claims total vindication, and the thing that he was claiming vindication about was that he was not the target of a criminal investigation. But now he is—or imminently will be.”

Here's the thing:
Trump has shown repeatedly that his primary concern above all else, no matter what he actually says is:
Himself.
Everytime he has to give a speech about something, or express the kinds of normal human sentiments about some tragic event, it ALWAYS turns back to himself and how great he is.
Watch his cabinet meeting.
When convenient, he throws people under the bus faster than Frank Underwood, if it benefits him personally.
In that perspective, the sudden concern with the reputation and well-being of Michael Flynn is a HUGE red flag.
If one assumes that 1) Trump is lying when he said he was concerned about Flynn, then we have to consider what his real motive was:
To protect himself.
Why would he need to do that?
Russian Cyber Hacks on U.S. Electoral System Far Wider Than Previously Known

39 states.
I just am mindful of how charitably Trump has been of Putin when he criticizes everybody else at the drop of a hat. He didn't back up Article 5 at NATO.
All of his actions and statements are consistant with someone who is actively compromised.
Obama went so far as to use the Red Phone to tell the Russians to back off.
Why has this president not said or done ANYTHING?
Because it's FAKE NEWS.
Because Kislyak is hiding behind a potted plant with a copy of pee pee tape.![]()
Do you think that the Russians were trying to hack into the election? Are the reports accurate?
