In 2008 it's reported that 2.8 million illegals voted, so I wouldn't say that Trump making a claim, in a year that registered more voters, would result in a larger amount of illegals voting.

I agree. Who cares if they meet the president or not? It makes no sense. I do think that starting dialogue is important though. Them not meeting with him basically destroys any attempt at talks. That is how things get done. Talking first. Refusing to go to the table and talk is counter productive. Because of this and the big deal people are making of it calling them heroes or them "taking a stand" will only prevent communication later by other people. Then again... they are athletes.
