CNN's Smerconish Makes Case Trump Didn't Obstruct Justice
Lawyer and CNN host Michael Smerconish on Friday said the obstruction of justice probe into President Donald Trump "absolutely is a witch hunt," and that the president "deserves better than this."

In a near 6-minute video posted on his Facebook page, Smerconish breaks down the sequence of events at the heart of the reported investigation into Trump, making the case that there is no obstruction of justice.
The host of "The Michael Smerconish Program" on Sirius XM began with the "pledge of loyalty" conversation between Trump and then FBI Director James Comey in January.

"President Trump had the audacity to say to Jim Comey, 'I need your loyalty.' As if that's a criminal offense," Smerconish says. "There is nothing at all wrong with that. As a mater of fact, President Trump would be derelict in his duty if he had a disloyal head of the FBI."
Smerconish then shames the "bas s in the mainstream media" for abetting the distractions and the cloud that had been preventing Trump from accomplishing his goals of "making America great again."

He then addressed the termination of Comey.

"You're damn right he fired him," Smerconish says. "President Trump didn't like Hillary Clinton … but Comey did her wrong. And that bothers Donald Trump. … Donald Trump got rid of an FBI director who had lost the trust of the bureau, and he did all the rest of us a favor in the process."
    BS.

He would never say such a thing. I watch him all the time.

Maybe it's that language barrier thing but he was role playing what a Trump defense (Trump lawyer) would argue against.

Smerconish dismissed the "nut job" and "relieve pressure" comments Trump made to the Russians during their Oval Office visit.

"He was being honest with the Russians," Smerconish said. "And you know why he said that? He meant that he had done it to relieve pressure that he was fearing, facing, that was preventing him from achieving his agenda.

"Look, the whole thing — it absolutely is a witch hunt, and Donald Trump deserves better than this," Smerconish concludes.
Why you shamed of newsmax? Give them credit for misleading post.

Why Trump is really angry: Mueller is following the money

the New York Times piece from later on Wednesday evening finishes on a note that’s likely behind the increase in orange ire.

A former senior official said Mr. Mueller’s investigation was looking at money laundering by Trump associates.

The su ion is that any

cooperation with Russian officials would most likely have been done in exchange for some kind of financial payoff, and that there

would have been an effort to hide the payoffs, most likely by routing them through offshore banking centers.

Looking into not just Trump’s finances, but those of

Jared Kushner, Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn and others makes it all but certain that someone is going to find a friendly team of agents at their door.

That is, if Trump allows Mueller to complete the investigation.

In fact, if Mueller is looking for money laundering, he really doesn’t need to look all that hard.

    March 06, 2015

WASHINGTON, DC – The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) today imposed a $10 million civil money penalty against Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort (Trump Taj Mahal), for willful and repeated violations of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). […]

    Trump Taj Mahal admitted that it failed to implement and maintain an effective [Anti Money Laundering] program;

    failed to report su ious transactions;

    failed to properly file required currency transaction reports;

failed to keep appropriate records as required by the BSA.

Looking into money laundering around Trump is like investigating moisture in the middle of the ocean.

If that’s not enough money laundering by Trump, there’s more.

A Financial Times investigation has found evidence that one Trump venture has multiple ties to an alleged international money laundering network.

le deeds, bank records and correspondence show that a Kazakh family accused of laundering hundreds of millions of stolen dollars bought luxury apartments in a Manhattan tower part-owned by Mr Trump and embarked on major business ventures with one of the tycoon’s partners.

    And more ...

The FBI did wiretap Trump Tower to monitor Russian activity, but it had nothing to do with the 2016 Presidential election, it has been reported.

Between 2011 and 2013 the Bureau had a warrant to spy on a high-level criminal Russian money-laundering ring, which operated in unit 63A of the iconic skyscraper — three floors below Mr Trump's penthouse.

The plaintiffs in a 2015 racketeering case against Bayrock, Sater, and Arif, among others, alleged in the civil lawsuit that:

“for most of its existence it [Bayrock] was substantially and covertly mob-owned and operated,”

engaging “in a pattern of continuous, related crimes, including mail, wire, and bank fraud; tax evasion; money laundering; conspiracy; bribery; extortion; and embezzlement.”

Although the lawsuit does not allege complicity by Trump, it claims that

Bayrock exploited its joint ventures with Trump as a conduit for laundering money and evading taxes.

The lawsuit cites as a “Concrete example of their crime,

Trump SoHo, [which] stands 454 feet tall at Spring and Varick, where it also stands monument to spectacularly corrupt money-laundering and tax evasion.”

Money laundering is what Trump does.

It's a deflection strategy by CNN,,,like sending out Dershowitz with the same materiel. Keeps the Republican base mollified for "minutes" while the lynching continues. Once he's swingin' they'll roll over on themselves whilst celebrating to beat the band.

Senate overwhelmingly votes to impose new sanctions on Russia over election meddling

    97-2

My question remains, and this is a really good way to falsify my theory. Be happy to admit he isn't compromised, if some evidence supports that. Everything he has done thus far is consistent with compromised and/or some level of collusion. Any actions against Russia would put that to rest. The more he ignores this, the thinner your denials will be, and the stronger the case gets.

What steps has the Trump administration undertaken to hold Russia to account for this?

    Let's try this again.

Hmm. I didn't think my question was that hard.

It is almost as if you don't want to, or can't answer it, and this is a recurring pattern in our interactions. Instead of dealing with something that you might not like directly, you dodge and deflect. It usually takes about 3-5 times of me asking a direct question to get an answer.

You would do well to think about why that is. Here is something you might find helpful.

    10. Be willing to publicly acknowledge when a point or criticism is good. If someone is unable or unwilling to admit when their opponent raises a good point or makes a good criticism, it demonstrates an unwillingness to participate in the give-and-take that characterizes an honest exchange.
So, let's try one more time, so we can get to something we can agree with. A good debate has to establish facts, and lay ground work, and that can't be done if basic reality can't be agreed on.

What steps has the Trump administration undertaken to hold Russia to account for this?

Can't see why HuffPo would pull this article

Impeachment Is No Longer Enough; Donald Trump Must Face Justice

Draining the swamp means not only ejecting Trump from the presidency, but also bringing himself and everyone assisting in his agenda up on charges of treason. They must be convicted (there is little room to doubt their guilt). And then — upon receiving guilty verdicts — they must all be executed under the law. Anything less than capital punishment — or at least life imprisonment without parole in a maximum security detention facility — would send yet another message to the world that America has lost its moral compass.

Yeah, I don't think action/inaction on Russia proves anything.
The only thing the Trump administration appears to be angling for is removing economic sanctions on Russia. One has to wonder why this choice of action is indicated, when common sense would seem to dictate that rewarding them would not be appropriate.

This administration is reinstating restrictions on Cuba, because they view Cuba as hostile, wants to scrap the Iran deal, because they view Iran as hostile, talks about militarily threatening North Korea, because they view NK as hostile, yet nothing about Russia, other than pushing to ease sanctions.

What do you think is so different about Russia to them?

"only thing the Trump administration appears to be angling for is removing economic sanctions on Russia."

THAT's the main thing, and includes Rexxon T $500B deal with Pootin.

btw, if Pootin can gratuitously stir up in M/E, like this Qatar crap, and push the price of oil back up to $100, Pootin will have his payback in the hard cash $10Bs.
