I'm starting to get this feeling ainge will pick lonzo tbh. I mean honestly the more I look at them (fultz/ball) the more I see why people are saying ball is transcendent.
Welp, there goes that. Lonzo seems to be a lock for LA. I think LA may luck into him too as they really wanted Fultz and Lonzo could be better.

But damn, burning that pick on Russell looks awful now just to burn another top 3 pick on another PG. Russ better get damn good playing as a 2 guard.

please. only definitive in that draft was kat who we had no chance at ...
im not as sold on porzy longterm as others are but he is clearly better or more impactful at this point ...
mudiay has been very mehhh .. and Oak has been more disappointing than Russ.
cant kill Lakers for that pick.
Deng and Mozgof are the trash move Lakers should be destroyed for ...

as for this draft ...not sure any player is transcendant and the Celts trading down confirms they feel the same ...
celts would gamble on Ball or Fultz if there is any chance they would be ...

btw Fultz is no PG ...and neither is Russell both are natural SGs. plsying wither there is a projection ...

It's not about having anything definitive. It's about the fact your team used a top 3 pick on a PG and now basically have to give up on him and burn another top 3 pick on a PG. No matter how you want to justify that - unless they solve the issue by making Russell a successful 2 it will be a really bad decision with the benefit of hindsight

Also, with Ainge, he may very well get Lonzo if he doesn't feel there is a big gap and now got extra picks for the trouble.

I didn't say it was a good pick. I just called they would go PG because I read the tea leaves. And again, I'm not bashing them for the pick, but hindsight and how things play out is all that matters. Now we know it was a wasted pick it appears, but we will see.

They may not go Ball and/or they may trade Russell

im pretty sure i recall you making a case for why they went that route ...
but i could be wrong. either way im not sold on Russell he hasnt been a bust ...
but is underwhelming for a #2 pick ...but im not writing him off yet either.
but i love how everyone freely admits we were a dumpster fire but cant give a kid with some talent some slack ...even Lakers fans.
Slack now has been given now im in show me mode ...he has a 2nd year in Lukes system and should play more SG ...with Lonzo. if he cant be more consistent then he needs to go but im willing to give him til at least the asg ...not like he holding us back from a le. i can wait and see ..

I agree with that - there is no rush. But part of the reason LA, despite having multiple lottery picks, has not moved forward is because of management which then cast serious doubt on the development of those players. Bad situation all around but totally fixable if LA lands key FA's again.

    Wojtek update today:

    https://audioboom.com/posts/6031132-...joins-the-show

Paul George's camp adamantly telling teams trading for him he's still signing with the Lakers in 2018:
“Teams are trying to decide what’s the appropriate cost for a player who they’re being told, pretty adamantly by Paul George’s camp, will be a rental."

"No matter who you are, no matter who has checked in or who potentially will check in, they’re gonna be told that Paul George is gonna play the season out and then he’s gonna go to the Lakers, that that’s his plan.”

Not buying it. Smokescreen by Magic and Co. to prevent Boston from surprising picking Longo.

    He's still COMING, LkrFan

Man, it could end up great if LA lands the big fish(es) but they had to use the #2 pick in the draft to dump a contract.

The Mozgov and Deng signings were of those signings that you just knew, from the get go, that there was no way anything positive could come up of them.

Ya - and this isn't ST using hindsight. Many of us ripped it as it happened. But this was a steep cost to pay to undo that mistake. Let's see if it pays off.

The young core they just spent years tanking for wasn't that good to begin with and they're trading half of it away already (once you factor in what they'll give up for PG). I've said it before and I'll say it again: Magic is Doc 2.0.

D'Angelo had a low ceiling to begin with but he had an awful situation with the Lakers. His growth was hampered by Kobe's farewell tour coupled with Jim's weak attempt of putting a winning basketball team on their floor.

Ingram has legitimate All Star quality and Randle (a double double player despite of unclear role) has potential to be a serviceable player. Nance, Zubac and Clarkson, all second round picks are exceeding expectations.

I've already said my piece on Lonzo and I still believe he's going to change their culture.
