No . I'm sure they'd love one year of Aldridge to get out of their horrible contracts to Allen Crabbe or Evan Turner. Did you know those gots have a $138 million payroll next year?

    I'm not lying

wtf?? cant believe they matched that offer for Crabbe....idiots tbh

They're going to have a higher payroll than Cleveland next year
They thought overpaying for middling talent was creating assets, because they lucked out on a couple of OK deals the previous summer.

LMA isn't saying he'll only play for one team.
I hope not. I was responding to the assertion that the Suns were the only team that could feel certain LMA would re-up. Hopefully he would be willing to offer those assurances to others. The Spurs don't ever just dump guys without trying to appease their interests. It is even more in bent on them to do so with LMA to maximize his value. I hope he is also willing to work with the Spurs to get this done in the next six hours or so.

I remember dying laughing when they signed Aminu to that contract and now he's one of the best values on the team (though still a very ty player).

It was actually a genius move to match the crabbe pay, if they simply intend to trade him to brooklyn now for assets tbh. They were going to lose him either way, might as well hold on to him and get something for him. He's not worth that contract, but He could easily be a pretty good player soon. He was one of the few young blazers who played up against GSW when they were battling a couple years ago.

Maybe another team would be willing to take crabbe, portland takes LMA, and the spurs get a pick or something along those lines.

Can the Spurs trade for Ezeli's non-guarantteed contract and Harkless to make it work? nothing else on that roster aside from CJ is enticing and he is making a ton of money after this season

    although portland's trades aren't all that sexy at 15, 20 and 26.

Portland has three picks in the first round they are trying to get rid of, I'm sure they'd give up all 3 for LMA. They are in cap tbh

I think the LMA situation has introduced an element of fluidity. Paul has likely been taken by surprise. Perhaps the Spurs seem like a deteriorating situation - depending on the gets for LMA and even Danny. CP3 has no way of projecting the Spurs' next edition.
Or maybe it was signaled from CP3's camp he doesn't want a mental midget like Aldridge on the roster.

They would never do that. They'll get something for LMA if they trade him.
If moving LMA now, they should be able to get a return. If waiting for start of FA, teams will know Spurs may have commitment from a FA and may need to dump him ASAP. If dealing, deal now if there's demand.

Article said they will match salary only, and they want to keep those picks. All those picks help out with future luxury tax, if they move a couple contracts

It's all more or less connected it seems with Porzingis. If one domino falls, then so do the others.

It didn't hurt them, they weren't going to sign anyone. Now they trade him, and her something in return instead of losing him for nothing.

Might be the nets, that take him too. The original poachers.

If someone out there is willing to take Dwight Howard, spurs should be able to get something serviceable for LMA.

woj just reported that the celtics are also stalling at anything the knicks are demanding back. NY must be asking for more than just the pick straight up.
