I want Paul George. He's my number 1 target right now (even over Chris Paul).

If the Spurs can somehow get him with a straight swap with Indiana, go for that, but otherwise, try a three way deal between Spurs, Cavs and Indiana. The framework of the trade would be - Green and Aldridge to Cleveland, Love to Indiana and Paul George to the Spurs. Cleveland would come out ahead in this, but if that is the case, Lebron would push for this trade to happen. He wants Green and if you throw in Aldridge as an extra, I think Lebron would push for it. Green and Aldridge also don't have long contracts so if Lebron bolts, they'll be off the books relatively quickly. Love would be a good piece for Indiana to add and try and built around/with.
Seems like that proposal is tilted in the Cavs' favor. I don't know why Danny didn't get moved last night, but I suspect it was not for lack of interest. I believe that there may well have been interest in both Danny and LMA, but the Spurs and Cavs and possibly a third team were hammering out the specifics of a trade for which they had a general framework in place.

Every team in the league overvalues their draft picks, then two years later wonder why they didn't trade away from whatever crap player they had selected that year.

Nobody wants Love. Pretty sure Cleveland already offered them that plus picks.

Well, if Indiana don't want Love, then that screws that up. I don't want him either, but the Spurs are trying to play for Championships, Indiana isn't. If the Spurs were a lottery team like Indiana is going to be, I'd take Love. I think he could at least help them win more games and make more money rather than being a cellar dweller.

Edit : Just remembered, didn't both Jimmy Butler and Paul George not want to play for the Cavs after all with the uncertainty surrounding Lebron leaving after next season?

Get him to the Spurs right now.

, you don't think he's going to the Clippers or Lakers, do you?

CGD tbh, why would Indy prefer Love to Aldridge? I think that this needlessly complicates things imo Aldridge > Love so why would Indy want to get the Cavs involved? Why would the Spurs for that matter? LMA might be the best thing that Indy will get for a Paul George rental. I would rather have an all star to build around than just draft picks (Boston). It is a win win for the Spurs and Pacers to do it straight up, that way the Spurs can hang on to Verde and even Fathead if they like.
On the Celtics tip, Ainge will remain a genius for as long as he has picks, the second he cashes those picks in for a player (s) the genius tab goes away and the reality of just how good a gm he is will start to be known. I think he likes the mystery of the potential of options so I wouldn't be surprised to see the Celtics keep kicking the can down the road for 5 more years.

I love Aldridge for George straight up. I doubt he will stay in SA. But if he bolts, we are no worse off than we would have been with LMA opting out. But I don't think the Pacers are ready for that swap. I think they still hold out hope that the Lakers will pony up a better offer.

I completely agree that swapping misfits is the cleanest approach, and what makes most sense.

I'm just going off rumors that CLE was interested in LMA and Green, which I understand can be complete BS. Also hoping to kill two birds with one stone to open up space for CP3 should Spurs land PG.

Agree, I think they're using Spurs to force Laker's hand since it's one of the few places that may have a 50/50 of keeping him.

I'm sure Indy is requesting a young player like Murray along with Aldridge. There's no incentive for Indiana to simply trade George for Aldridge 1 for 1 without a commitment from Aldridge.
Not a big one, but one none the less is getting a Max player at least lets you save some face over losing him for nothing. It would definitely take assets too, which is why that deal is tough.paul wont commit.

Doesn't Love have a longer contract compared to Aldridge? That's one reason I'm thinking Indiana might prefer him to Aldridge because Aldridge would only be a 1 year rental there too.

    Agree.
And our hope can be the Flamers have nothing better to offer, right?
I mean for all his faults Aldridge is 17 and 9 and was advancing in the playoffs as long as Kawhi was holding his hand.

The Lakers (Flamers? Because of Magic's arrival?) don't have anything as good that they would offer. But they do have younger pieces and a higher draft pick (probably) next year.

i think LA is content to just save as much for next summer as they can with the intention of building the next "super team" by going after both james and george.

Boston has the Lakers pick next year if it's 2-5, otherwise Philly gets it.

Thanks. Well, maybe LMA is the best the Pacers can get. And if they mesh, playing with Kawhi for a year might convince the guy to re-up with the Spurs.

I need to, at least, see a twitter account of shady reputation selling smoke about the Spurs pursuing PG13.
