Well, I'd toss that TPE in a trade for Paul George and take back a contract Indy doesn't want. The rest I'm not sure yet, depends on who wants to come play here.

Or Crutch City. The name would even appeal to their Asian fan base as they would think the nickname stayed the same.

Not sure how CP3 makes Houston better, or any contending team better for that matter. As I mentioned before, he is way too ball-dominant, and that only takes away the ball from alphas of dominant teams, which is never a good thing. He is not good enough a shooter to be a spot up, he gets abused easily on defense (despite the list of all-D selections), he doesn't necessarily move particularly well without the ball, he is not clutch.

Sure it was a great deal for Houston, but it just doesn't get them any closer to a championship. I never wanted him on the Spurs (not at that price), just like I didn't want LMA at the max. that said, there really aren't too many players I want on the Spurs. I think Gordan Hayward or Patrick Beverley would be great additions to the Spurs at the right price, I would love to have Millsap or Gobert, but those are not going to happen.
Since when is 41% from 3 "not good enough"?

Wow. Apparently Paul left because of Coc was unwilling to trade his scrub ass son, Jamal Crawford, and Paul Pierce for ing Melo + Vujacic. How do the Clippers turn down that deal? The Knicks offered that and gave the Clippers a three day deadline and Coc let it pass.

That Clippers team would have been devastating with Anthony at the SF and playing some minutes at the PF. How has Coc not been fired?

    FWIW, from a Clippers reporter:

I don't buy this either. As dumb as the Knicks are, not even they are dumb enough to take that garbage for Melo. We tried to trade for Melo at the deadline and couldn't get it done because both teams couldn't find a third team to take on Jamal's contract. But now we're supposed to believe that the Knicks were willing to saddle themselves with Jamal?

Choke-P is hiding behind Doc and Austin as scapegoats on his way out of town, and you guys are slurping it up. It's amazing how good he is at always ducking blame and criticism. If only he was that good at leading his team in the playoffs.

Furthermore, there's a report from another ESPN hack that directly contradicts Eaves'.

So depending on which hack you believe, Choke-P was either mad that Austin wasn't traded or mad that Austin wasn't starting. Either way, he looks like the victim. How convenient for him.

Last year was an anomoly. He's usually a 36/37% or so shooter. let's not take a career high and call it a norm, shall we?

Check my history, never wanted CP3 on the Spurs. As another regular starter who is willing to play off the ball? Sure. As a always ball dominant PG that will take away from Kawhi and make $200? No way. A player like Mike Conley works better on the Spurs, but then he's getting $30M a year. Can't find a reasonable player out there who will make the Spurs significantly better other than Lebron and Curry, so those are moot points.

Either way, Spurs are not contending with or without CP3.

Houston will likely have a better regular season than 16-17, but they are not going to go much further in the playoffs. 2nd round max (barring major injuries to other WC contenders)

If you actually followed the conversation, it was around him being on the Spurs. But then why would he? The entire premise is that he is ball-dominant, and that he create the looks. 21% of his shots were assisted last year, what do you expect that to be in Houston? 30%? 35%? How will he shoot from 3 next year with Houston? 41%? 45%?

Is he a good 3pt shooter? Sure! Is he a spot up guy like Korver (in his prime)? No, he's not going to be in that role. So what is he going to be in Houston? Will he take touches away from Harden? Does that make them better? What if he was on the Spurs? Will he take touches away from Kawhi? Will that make the Spurs better? My answer is that it's likely no, and even if yes, it would be marginal improvement. But let's see if he will be a better than 41% 3pt shooter in Houston like you predicted.
