Dont care if he can shoot. In fact i prefer the next big sa goes after cant. Sick and tired of 7 footers with no post game, no rebounding, and 15 foot jumpers. Score from the block and be mean.
Shayne Whitttington
Height: 6'11
Weight: 245 lbs

Played with Pacers for a few games. Good size, good range on jumper, plays hard

I agree I want someone who is going to abuse Green when they put him on our next big.
Can't hurt to invite him to summer league maybe training camp. Remember Simmons
The NBA game now requires stretch 4's or 5's who can spread the floor in addition to rebounding. This may have been Dedmon's undoing here but who knows? I know this - players won't make the Spurs' roster if they aren't basketball smart.
Here are some of his highlights against NBA compe ion from a few years ago (Includes against the Spurs / Bayne covering him):
I'm not sure why he didn't stick or what his shortcomings are, but he's not a big bersome PF. He can move with fluidity.

You know if we get him and he starts sucking, his name will become Whayne tington
His shot blocking numbers are really bad. Him and Bertans would make for a terrible defense.
Shot blocking numbers... oh no
The nba game doesnt require anything. The nba gm coaches just jump on board with everyone esle. Its as dumb as not taking the best available player in the draft
NBA coaches and GM's build their rosters and strategy on trying to overcome the top teams or Champions.
Till then, he'll be Waitingtohappen until he does something good.
I'd take him over Spence Hawes
Tom Rivers
I like it
Sure, by mimicking what the "best" have. Thats the problem. These idiots just dont play the best players, they still think you have to have a certain skill set to play in x position.
Shayne got the invite. - Good pick up for Spurs if he sticks. Dependable, hard-worker and nice jump shot. Most of the D-League guys work hard tbh.
Spurs have NO shot blocking and rebounding in the post. This guy us great for the 12th spot, not much more.
Oh yeah, for sure. Most of the D league guys are end of the bench players who can give you spot minutes. He wiould be thrilled to get an invite to training camp tbh.
I'm shocked.
TGY you sir are a savage
