Word is RC will be tackling FA from Los Angeles. Paul George?

    George isn't a FA though.

Just listened to the Open Floor SI podcast and the concensus is that the Spurs likely won't do much. Between being boxed in by TP and Gasol contracts while being hamstrung by Aldridge who no one wants, there's just not much they can do.
good description. I know guys don't want to hear it, and HarlemHeat37 got some criticism for his comments, but he's right, until the Spurs lose the saddle to all the guys they owe loyalty too, they just won't be able to "rebuild"

Kevin Pelton from ESPN, on Nate Duncan's podcast suggested that Jonathan Simmons may resign with a 2+1 at $8 million a season so he could become a free agent again at 29.

It was a mock off season but I've heard that figure before.

Would allow for the Spurs to probably keep him.
That sounds good. After his 2 years, he's not subject to Arenas rule and I think he will be UFA too. He's free to do whatever. Good for the Spurs too, that is a good contract on a player they like and hopefully he stays hungry and keeps improving, to get a big contract after that one is over. It really depends on whether another team fell in love with him and is going to give him a poison pill contract.. Otherwise I can see him back in a contract like that. ^

tbh I wouldn't mind rolling the dice on Bogut if he'll take a cheap deal as a backup C since Dedmon is gone

I hate PR awards. What exactly did he do to deserve Gm of the year award? If it's for Lma (collecting a signiture), he should give it back. One of the most overrated Spurs teams of all-time.

If they end up doing nothing it is not because they had no options. They are not being boxed in by TP contract. They refuse to deal him, loyalty over team success. them.
I think that it's incredibly important to PATFO that Parker retires a Spur like David, Tim, and Manu (when he actually decides to). In and of itself that is far from a bad thing; having 4 hall of famers in the past 30 years play their entire careers on one team, that's unprecedented in the FA era of the NBA.

Parker keeping the Spurs from making a splash certainly hurts but I think it helps with the reputation of the team which could help the team attract FA's down the line.

So if it's a choice between Kawhi and Parker, are they still going to take this idiotic stance?

That's not enough for Green, Cleveland better come up off a future pick or make another move to get us one.

Heard decent things about Cedi Osman though.

Osman seems like a pretty good prospect. Decent handle, athleticism, shot alright from three. Wouldn't mind at all giving up Danny for him.

    How is tony's rehab going?

I got to thinking. I am a fan of fela kuti, the afrobeat pioneer and political revolutionary. Ole crazy as fela believed that having sex with many different woman could bestow upon him spiritual and physical powers. Fela also believed in the theory of the more the merrier. It was a common daily occurrence for him to have big orgies.

Wonder if tony suscribes by this theory. It couldn't hurt to try. He could usesome powers to ensure a full and speedy recovery.

Here is hoping tony is knee deep in ass as we speak.

For purposes of full disclosure, fela did die of aids. So this strategy and theory might be complete bs. But I still wanted to throw it oUT there for purposes of discussion.

didn't you hear? Tony is coming back to play his best basketball in January/February?

Kawhi is not a cancer. He's not going to demand the team trades team legends and HoF players... he could be in those shoes one day...

The Spurs are ing around too much with the loyalty contracts, they can't survive that way. Even a major market in LA is suffering because they chose sentiment over common sense. The Spurs don't owe anything to players no matter how long they've been here. (Cept for Tim)
