Whether they are compe ive or not, they can't act as if they're not trying. This is not Philly, and the implications to their long-term future, i.e. Kawhi staying or leaving, are too important to leave an impression that they're not going to try and put the most compe ive team on the court every night. Can't fall short of the task to try.

I get what you are saying.... but the front office can't be short sighted and neither SHOULD Kawhi. If Im Kawhi, and I see the landscape of the NBA, I see that a sizable move needs to be made to compete as opposed to marginal moves. I agree that it would suck if we struck out next year and Kawhi went elsewhere but that's a chance we should be taking.
