The year SloMo was drafted by the Spurs, I was hoping they would take either Cleanthony Early and Glenn Robinson III. I suppose it turned out okay but it's hard to know for sure the way the Spurs' player development is.

I said it in another thread, I think, but the way Jefferson played in Austin, I expect him to look like a men among boys in SL.

Wow, there's a name I haven't seen in a long time. I went and found a "where are they now" article after I read your comment. Ummm... I don't think Alfredrick is in quite as good of shape as the guy in that story. Once a Spur, always a Spur. But I don't think Alfredrick is making a comeback.

Cool that you brought him up, though. He only played a small role for one season. Why does his name stick with me so clearly?

because he is by far the worst draft pick ever in the history of the franchise?

Oh, right, that's the shtick around here. He stuck in my mind because people here talk about him being the Spurs' worst draft pick ever. He was one of the worst first round picks, for sure - but not the worst. Remember Oliver Robinson? You wouldn't. And he was drafted just a couple of years before Alfredrick Hughes. Willie Peck?

Back then, a lot of good players weren't drafted until the second and third rounds. Maybe not stars, but guys who played a lot of minutes for a lot of years. The year the Spurs picked Hughes, Mario Elie was the 160th pick, in the 7th Round. And there were plenty of busts in the first couple of rounds.

Early was so promising prospect. But then everything went wrong for him. Being drafted by Knicks, living in NYC, getting ing shot on the street there...
Yeah he had talent until he got drafted to the Knick...Homeboy was our 4:00am during regular season at a strip club with his girl where he off course got his chains and grill taken away from him. The bad thing is then they knee capped his ass so putting zero chance of him making team

The funny was on the 911 call the asked him if he was ok he sad he was bleeding a little but his lady said he was a bleeding a lot and he was so looking forward to "Thrashing Her Pussy" latter tonight and didn't think he would be able to do that..........lol...........

Is that true? If so, I think he gets a pass for being in shock after being shot

I remember people here saying we should draft him. I think I do remember you saying you wanted him. I'm very interested to see how he plays. Hopefully he can make something of that potential he had with the Spurs.

Number 4 was Danny's old good luck number in his jersey... maybe it will bring him good luck.

I was thinking the same thing. But honestly, the kid won't need much luck. He looks to be arguably the best overall guard the Spurs have. That might speak more to the lack of talent in the backcourt rather than his ability, but it is what it is.

It'll be easy to predict who the Spurs will draft in the future. Just look out for college players with oversized heads.
With all this NASA that Pop loves so much I actually think it was some sort of balancing things out in the team. Like when one celestial body is running amok and irregularly through an orbit but when another body join the game starts to balance on its own.

Maybe the front office is holding Milutinov out of action until they have made their decision to bring him over. I hope that the guys at least get to practice with the summer league team like Bertans and LJC have done in the past even if they don't play in any games.

I thought this might mean they'd play in Vegas
