Even with the way things ended with Pop?
I would not file it under "likely" but SA is shaping up to offer the same money as anyone else that would be going after him. I can see there being mutual interest, even though Dedmon was probably not thrilled with riding the bench towards the end of the year/playoffs.

I do wonder what the market on Ersan is. Spurs seemed to like him and he may be attainable now.

Not Ray Allen clutch, but never put in a Ray Allen situation...
    Stop.

No...Ray was put in a catch and shoot moment and it was natural.

He did what he was supposed to do what to do.

    He made it,

Put Your boy in that same situation: You feel he can make that shot? Then keep him

The team and he will take them there.
Kyle is not a shooter. He made an NBA team not on the strength of his 3 pt shooting alone which is all Mills has to his name.

You know what I meant old boy Mills shooting 20-25% from 3 on like 6-8 shots a game in multiple playoffs series.

then he can't guard anyone... will get posted up multiple times by Livingston, will get eaten alive by Austin Rivers running circles around him.. etc. if dude isn't making shots, he's worth 0.

Murray would have to bulk up. He would get bullied by other threes. He has the height, but not the weight to play the 3.
Well yeah but he'd have to put on a ton of weight/muscle to guard "3's" who are can sometimes be small ball 4's etc. Murray frame/size is perfect to guard opposing PG's IMO

I'll be shocked if Gasol isn't the starting center next year with Manu STILL our sixth man. I don't expect anything different.
I fear the same thing, with Pop relying on Manu whenever possible instead of giving every minute to the young guys.

Don't think he'd be redundant with Ol' Bertie?

No argument. I'm no fan of old shooters right now.

    yes.
what else can we deduce with Mills getting signed at 12:01?
Yes, but I wanted to make sure that I had the pronoun with the correct antecedent.

I can also see, like with Simmons, SA having a number that they felt was fair and made that known to Mills. If you want to stay, this is our offer. Unlike Simmons, Mills really wanted to stay and that raise was fine in his mind (like with Danny Green too).
I think this may very well be what happened.

well your mind is not Pop's mind, I will give you this... no one knows truly what he is in anyone's mind bc Pop will play him all over the place.
I'd like for his last season in the team to at least get a set role and see what he does there.

but for your comment.. you mentioned blossomgame who is sort of a forward honestly.
He is purely and simply a SF prospect. Pop can't mess with him like he did Kyle.

That makes sense. I just doubt they had a whiteboard with all arrows pointing at Patty. Its quite possible they really did want to move LMA/Danny if it meant a higher pick. Once that fell through (if true) they went down the list of other options.

His playoff performance helped get a more fair deal honestly, just as his shoulder surgery helped last FA for him. I do think he'll bounce back tho. It's tough to criticize him in the GS series after they really keyed in on him, and our team being so depleted.

He'd be a Lee replacement - except would provide more range. Lee's defense was a surprise, but if Ersan can replicate that, then he'd be a Lee upgrade

I agree. I said that immediately once TP went down that Mills just got a lot more affordable. I also said that once TP went down it made it much more likely that Mills came back.

I'm not judging him solely on GS series - he's shown in numerous moments that he really is not a PG. But that doesn't mean he cant be valuable in the right situation and with everyone healthy he won't be put in situations where he can't succeed.

From that angle, I can see it but I feel like that would put Bertans and Anderson back where they were last season - mostly riding the bench. Unless LMAo puts his big boy pants on and slides to center.

ok .. that is fine.. the longer some conversations go, I get lost too. lol specially when there are multiple replies from different ppl.

    I am disappointed is all.

I would truly get behind a youth movement and wouldn't care at all if they didn't add anybody if that was what was in the cards. I was super excited LMA was going to be traded for a lotto pick or Porzinguis or someone young promising stud... but standing pat is so underwhelming. Yes, they were good last season. Guess what? they won 67 wins the season before. You know who folded and couldn't make shots when it mattered both seasons? Patty and LMA. Worse than the Patty disappointment is probably standing pat with LMA. I believed even b4 all the noise about his being unhappy in SA came out that Spurs would never win a championship with him. Dude just folds up and caves when the going gets tough. I wouldn't say the same from Patty, but he did get a generous contract/years. and the group stood pat, maybe worse unless some guys make a leap, who by the way need real opportunities to do so.

Time to put the big boy pants on someone else, to me.

Agree with SAGirl. If it's a youth movement, I don't mind standing pat. I'm just afraid it's going to be more of the same. If Manu and Gasol resign, we'll know what direction they're going.
