Who did they add? They brought back an old Iggy and Livingston and an old David West. You referring to Jordan Bell? I love that move but I would not say that is not standing pat (but they don't have to add anything - as is they are better than all).

I agree with your sentiment of them always looking to improve but i don't think they really added to their team so far.

He'd be referring to Durant staying and the old team doing their thing.

This team (the Spurs).. I think this year should be a throwaway.
See if LMA gets happier, but I don't think that will happen and watch the kids.

See how the team develops and go from there next year. Pop will give a few years left to see the team grow and go from there.

Rudy Gay, CP, Hill, etc.. Spurs have been linked to plenty. Just saying neither the Spurs or GS has actually added to their teams just yet (not surprising the two best teams are patient and less pressured to make moves for the sake of it when they are both great).

I will bet you that SA adds a player or two that are new as well.

I meant linked to anyone as serious threats to sign said player. There hasn't been much to these rumors so far as far as anyone can tell.

Look at the supposed guard rotation now from a defensive potential perspective:

Murray - not a great defender, but obviously has the physical tools and can learn.

Danny - all nba level defender and stud

Hanga - question mark but his game is defensive

Simmons - made tremendous strides on defense.

White - was decent in college defensively - question mark at nba level, but obviously should have some defenseive tools.

We also have Mills/Forbes/Tony who no longer play defense well, but at least they can shoot. However, SA has a lot more defensive guards now than before.

Then at the wing position with Simmons/Danny/Kawhi/Blossomgame and then hopefully a wing like Casspi or CJ Miles, that could look damn good.

Losing Dedmon hurts the defense, but hopefully that can be addressed as well.

I will say this, I was on board with the draft assuming we were making moves like trading Green. Now, if we retain Green and Simmons (which I hope we do) then that pick looks worse and worse.

Just butting in here, but I think Parker/Mills may be the end of guys the Spurs get that just play PG. I think they are want Murray to play "guard" rather than a one or a two. They want guys with multiple skills that can play 2+ positions. If Murray bulked up enough, he could play 1,2and 3.

You're arguing with a poster that was saying Simmons shouldn't jump over Fathead in the rotation because he hasn't "earned it".... Now he/she wants to give Fathead gift minutes ahead of potentially better players

Blossomgame - He's a SF. I've been advocating for Kyle to start at PF. Whether Pop see's that or not is not the point - it was not a Kyle slight

Murray would have to bulk up. He would get bullied by other threes. He has the height, but not the weight to play the 3.

I can also see, like with Simmons, SA having a number that they felt was fair and made that known to Mills. If you want to stay, this is our offer. Unlike Simmons, Mills really wanted to stay and that raise was fine in his mind (like with Danny Green too).
