That weakens Memphis and helps Sac with some veteran experience now that they have all those young players.

Could Memphis and San Antonio be making a trade LA for Gasol? They are rebuilding now anyway........ the numbers work

Oh, that would be interesting. How many years does Marc Gasol have on his contract and at what price? I doubt Memphis would trade Marc, though, would they?

Cool. Go get that money Zach.

I hope they don't do a poster night for Zach like they did for Shane Battier when he returned as a Rocket.

Could have dumped Aldridge for Randolph and gone after Hayward. They're going to have to end up dumping Aldridge at the deadline anyways.
With Brad coaching the Celts, Hayward was not coming here.

Players like Aldridge and Randolph are no longer effective on today's NBA, tbh.

Again, cap space for? They don't have the balls to take a chance on Cousins and he's the only potentially available game changer in '18 . . . and before you respond in predictable fashion, no one is salary dumping a game changer.

Obviously, this is a volatile league and a lot can change in a year, but the most likely outcome is probably either Aldridge (having a bounce back season, the relationship being repaired and him getting a raise ) or him being replaced by someone like Favors and Green getting a raise.
Or making a run at Towns (pipe dream), Turner or Portis in 2 years. Those guys are worth the big contract.

I thought this was a joke thread. Can't believe BB is seriously upset about the Spurs got getting ZBo. The Aldridge hate has gotten out of control.

Aldridge correct, zbo will at least rebound. Hes more effective than both pau and aldridge in that aspect. Pau will get 10 and 10 on a stellar night, which sucks cause he doesnt get contested rebounds, wont pick, cant intimidate, pass, or defend. Same with aldridge, but at least when he has a great night he can control the score. Either get decent bigs or go small. No sense of having a no rebounding no pick setting big. The rim prtection line is a bunch of , cause they are both to damn slow to rotate or even be in position to help

Best second option since 2014-15 Duncan?
Since we won it all, if not earlier than that. 2014-15 Duncan was awesome by the way.

He and ZBo have both sent the Spurs home in the first round of the playoffs, though.

Blake was the best player on the Clippers all series long in 2015, and he put up a triple-double in Game 7. And ZBo outplayed your whole frontcourt in 2011.

So Aldridge has been the best second option since Aldridge? I think he's arguably the worst second option this team has had since Vernon Maxwell.

    2015-17 Lamarcus Aldridge
    2008-15 Tim Duncan
    2003-08 Manu Ginobili
    2002-03 Tony Parker
    1997-02 David Robinson
    1996-97 Vernon Maxwell

I mean seriously, who is going to take Aldridge over Duncan, Ginobili, Parker, or Robinson? Lamarcus' gy fadeaways were better than Tim Duncan busting DeAndre Jordan's ass in the post in 2015?

Clips caught Kawhi at a mentally fragile time. No excuse for Spurs to have otherwise lost that series.

Or making a run at Towns (pipe dream), Turner or Portis in 2 years. Those guys are worth the big contract.
Towns is a budding superstar, who'll be given the max by Timberwolves. Turner is a budding star, who Pacers, if they don't work out a contract in advance, will match any offer for. Portis is neither; he'll top out as a high end backup to low end starter. Bulls will definitely retain unless offer is exorbitant and might even if it is, but Spurs shouldn't go to that extent for player of that caliber.
