It's not so much about price of a contract with Hanga, it's about playing time. Guys want to play. It seems to be Hanga if Simmons signs elsewear. There will be too many guard/forwards with the Gay signing to have Hanga and Simmons. Unless Gay will be a small ball 4.
At this point, pop needs to tell him to play the center position or to get used to sitting on the bench. LMA's feelings don't matter anymore after he went snitching and complaining to the media through back channels

Gay's going to be playing the 3/4. I'm sure the plan is for him to play substantial minutes at the 4 for us, and do some backup of Kawhi when it makes sense at the three.
Simmons showed up in both playoff series for us.
Kyle Anderson had one good game when the series was over and the Warriors were coasting for the Finals. We get it, you love Kyle and think he'll be a ten time All-Star down the road. Cool story.
Small ball is becoming the norm. At this rate people will only apply the term to 5-guard lineups in the near future. Seriously, every team has been signing guards and wings in free agency; look how many 5s are still available and going begging for the dregs of cap space teams have left.
Foregone conclusion that LMA will be our starting 5 most games - if he returns. Softest 5 in the league. I actually got excited watching the SL game last night; with Dijon held out, I was dreaming of a LMA/Dijon trade.
Kyle outplayed Simmons against GS. He "showed up" in all four games but only shot aggressively in Game Four. He went 6/9/5 in Game three in 20 minutes shooting 100 percent from the field. Simmons by and large had a bunch of inefficient volume-shooting games. While you can't fault Jonathon too much for that, it's just false to act like he performed at a significantly higher level than Anderson did.
Good to see some progressive people accepting Gay, but their are still people that are against Gay.

Kind of tend to agree. Simmons would be hard for the Spurs to replace this summer as hey don't have anyone up the pike, but ultimately, I'm not a huge fan. I do think Anderson will be better at 28 than Simmons is right now. That is if he will stop being a Diaw clone as to aggressiveness.
