Simmons losing money and teams by the day. He better do something quick, he got daughters to feed.

He must have tentative/conditional offers from teams, IMO. He must be waiting to see what happens with other FA. I doubt he's just languishing out there with no offers.

Nonsense. He's got one laughable offer on the table and it isn't going anywhere. He can play around as long as he wants because he knows he's guaranteed at least 9M.

Not sure why the Raptors didn't just pick up Miles into trade exception created with Carroll? Or can you not sign into a trade exception?

Or maybe the Pacers wanted some value in return in Joseph to facilitate the S&T?

You can use the TE for a sign-and-trade but Toronto would be over the tax if they didn't shed Cojo's salary.

Toronto's been trying to dump CoJo for past year so this wasn't surprising.

Toronto realizing too late that they paid too much to CoJo. Dumb signing on their part. CoJo is a fine player, but they paid him close to star level money.

Minnesota doesn't even have one great player. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
Towns and Butler are great, give me Butler over Irving/Klay all day.

Wiggins is just 22 years old. There are many things that he will never be but he'll improve the good things that he already has.

Like it or not, having a core on the same timeline is something that Kawhi and the Spurs lack.....

That's right, forgot about Miles' salary coming back in that would have pushed them above the tax.

Surprised they didn't try to offload JVal somewhere. Antiquated big and has plateaued - stats are super misleading. And paying a "27" year old Ibaka $20+...

We'll play smallball with a bunch of guy who don't shoot that well from 3...Murray, Gay, and our true 3-point shooters Danny 34P% Patty 36 3P% in last playoffs.

Iso-Spurs and more Danny drives...Love it.

Lakers what? You lost good drafted prospects for nothing. If Spurs were lucky enough to have those many top picks they would have won 3 rings in the last 5 years but LAL couldn't even make the playoffs.

I wonder if Boston signing Baynes means they aren't curious about Dedmon anymore

Yeah thought the same. They really don't have cap for Dedmon unless they sign and trade. But I figure Dedmon is still asking mid level or higher and they made the move for Baynes cause he comes cheaper. Good for him.

Agree. Dedmon is asking for more, the same with RFA JaMychal Green, that's why we dont hear offers for them yet. In JG case, even when Grizz wont match.

I wonder if there is a price in PATFO's head that they consider is to good to pass up for Dedmon, or if they have no interest in re-signing him.

I like this site, lots of cap numbers and other stuff: http://www.spotrac.com/nba/cap/

Each team page includes the exceptions they have left.

Dedmon would have been better fit for Celtics than Baynes. Looks like Hawks, Nets or Suns (if Len is renounced) for him, but if less than MLE, would imagine his representative(s) get fired.

Get that demeanor may not be that of typical Spur, but neither is Gay's game and that shouldn't detract from fact that they have clear need for someone like him.

Yep, Bradley doesn't shoot that well but Danny isn't 2014-Green anymore.

SAS just have players who are getting old, young players who won't see minutes unless a bad injury of a starter like in Murray situation...

I wonder when the Spurs get elite players on the same Kawhi's timeline to make SAS' future outlook a little cleaner.

In 2018? Really? They could sign just ONE great FA so what would be exactly Spurs' core in Kawhi's prime years?

That's why Wolves off-season moves look way better than Houston's..They have 3 great players on the same timeline. Like Warriors.

I'm not sure about the way that the Spurs are building their future...
Pistons essentially turned Caldwell-Pope, Morris and 2nd into Bradley and in a year's time, they'll have to give him an extension similar to the one they would have had to give to Caldwell-Pope. They also probably blew 11th pick passing on Mitc and clearly misread market by splurging early on Galloway, giving them pint sized guard rotation. Expensive, unimpressive roster, that lacks upside.

Timberwolves started with a bang getting Butler. Teague over Hill is defensible, but latter was better fit with 3 ball dominant types already. Gibson made little sense and Crawford made even less. They should make playoffs, but are being overrated because amount of big names . . . and Wiggins isn't great.
