Hardy was talking to him on the sideline before the last time he subbed in. Something is going on with him mentally, whether it is because of his play or the cause it unclear. I wonder how long it's going to be until we start hearing phrases like "he just really hates losing" or "I'd rather have a passionate guy on the team than a robot".

Hopefully, he's not on the verge of getting jealous of Bryn for grossly outperforming him.
    Talking about Dijon?
    I missed that.
He let out his frustration over playing just 15 minutes in Utah the first game of the Utah league.

Managing, as in shortening his minutes, is the best way to convey to him that the summer league is not about him.

It's been all a mystery as to why he's been sat and not playing. IMO very unusual. Meantime Forbes is obviously playing better than him and he's a guy that was overlooked most season. He was in the dleague the most and his stints in the regular team were so short lived and without much scoring opportunities that I am sure Pop and staff are at least intrigued. White also looks like he could develop as well. For a rook he's fit in quickly.

Forbes impressive doing his damage in the paint and the free throw line. He wasn't shooting well from 3. Honestly, a lot of improvement taking it to the hole!

Murray has been a dud. He also has played limited minutes. So I'm not sure what's going on here.

    76ers dude - I got 99 problems but 10 finger-marks on my face ain't one wigga.

Hopefully Murray bounces back next game by not sucking. Perhaps try to keep up with Olivier Hanlan's production.

Hopefully Murray gets a lot of burn. If Forbes gets rested next game, it will be on Murray to score and run the offense.

Only saw bits, and parts of the game. More than any other game.

Forbes looked really damn good until the end.

    Bertans looked really good.

Sounds like Murray did pretty bad again after starting off pretty good from what I saw. Of course the kid has the talent. He will find his rhythm. Enjoy seeing the overreaction in these threads .

Hope White comes back, and plays soon. I liked the way he has looked for the most part.

Murray has looked awful in the summer leagues and provided the front office with marching orders in terms of finding point guard help. He dribbles too high, displays unwarranted swag and lacks any sort of consistent jumper. There were plenty of reasons he was available so late in the draft and unfortunately the Spurs are seeing why. He may have been worth the risk of drafting because of his "potential" but he's shown nothing. In fact, he's been bad, not just "not good enough". F

    I could see that.
I'd like for him to play more than 15 minutes. He needs reps, and practice as much as he can get.

There was a group of (moderately drunk?) Spurs fans that were adoring of Davis. When he went chest to chest with that Sixers player they lost it and were screaming for him not to back down. It was hilarious

Some guys are just summer league players...I cringed whenever Bryn was on the court against NBA talent last year...Murray dealt with it much better...not only was Bryn not shooting well, but he can't penetrate nor play defense...and we NEED a lg that van penetrate... I keep saying it...we dont need a worse version of patty mills

The coaches didn't mistreat him. Murray put undue pressure upon himself by saying stuff like the following:

“I’m a born leader,” he said. “It’s not like it’s something new to me. Of course it’s new to me to lead guys at the professional level. But I feel like I’m a great leader, being vocal on both ends and making sure everybody is on the same page.”

Maybe he should take things easy by getting his game in order first before claiming a leadership role.

I've been completely busy during SL (both tournaments):

It sounds like from the postings here:

    1) White has played well.
    2) Forbes has played well.
    3) Bertans has been up and down.
    4) Murray has been a massive disappointment.
    5) No one else has emerged as a surprise.

    Is this basically right? Thanks

Actually, Forbes took everyone by surprise. He has added new dimensions to his game and is currently the team's leading scorer by a fair margin.

I would say that White played like Bertans. That is with spurts of impressive play but needs more consistency.

Murray has been pretty much a bust. He can't shoot. It is not like the ball is shot not falling, his mid range is barely close to the ring.

It is okay to miss, just as long as the ball has a chance of going in. With Murray, it just isn't there. I don't know what the he was doing during the break after the season ending.

Let's be honest, Murray has been the poster boy for the Spurs this summer league. Yet in 4 games, he's been laying an egg.

    Thanks for the update guys.

Not sure what's up with Murray. Didn't he train with Kawhi in the offseason? Disappointing.

It is crazy... Spurs marketing department are hyping up Murray. Murray is even the 'team captain' (he's the player who is selected to talk to the refs at the beginning of the game). He also plays the point running the offense.

Yet, he's stinking up the joint. Forbes and Bertans are both older than Murray and are deferring to this loser. The gig is up. The only reason Murray played well against some NBA teams was that the opposing team wasn't familiar with his play. One you figure it out, like many SL teams have, then he's practically worthless on the court other than being able to rebound the ball.
